Elin Electronics: Q3 FY26 Sees Strong Appliance Growth Amidst Raw Material Headwinds
Ask Iris
Elin Electronics Limited, a prominent player in India's electronics manufacturing services (EMS) sector, has announced its financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025. The company reported a consolidated operating revenue of INR 293.5 crore for Q3 FY26, marking a robust 10% year-on-year (YoY) growth from INR 266.3 crore in the same period last year. This growth was primarily fueled by strong performance in its home appliances and fan segments. Consolidated EBITDA for the quarter stood at INR 11.9 crore, a significant 57% increase YoY from INR 7.6 crore, largely attributable to effective cost-saving initiatives. Profit After Tax (PAT) also saw a substantial rise of 162% YoY, reaching INR 3.8 crore compared to INR 1.4 crore previously. The company's liquidity position remains strong, with net cash of INR 59 crore as of December 2025.
Segmental Performance: Appliances Shine, Lighting Adapts
The quarter's performance highlighted a clear divergence across segments. The Kitchen & Home Care segment emerged as a standout, recording an impressive 330% YoY revenue growth. This surge was predominantly driven by strong volumes in Oil Filled Radiator (OFR) heaters and robust demand for mixer grinders. The company noted improving capacity utilization across these categories, with expectations for further enhancement throughout the year. Similarly, the fan business demonstrated strong momentum, with revenue up approximately 100% YoY, primarily propelled by the BLDC ceiling fans category, which is gaining significant traction.
Conversely, the lighting, fans, and switches segment experienced a marginal decline in revenue. This was largely due to a volume decline from a key customer, Signify, which was partially offset by gains from newly acquired customers. Elin Electronics has successfully onboarded five new lighting customers, who are now contributing significantly to monthly revenues, with an expected INR 150-170 crore in revenue from these new clients in the coming fiscal year. The company anticipates double-digit growth in its lighting business for FY26-27. The Fractional Horsepower (FHP) Motors segment also saw a decline in third-party sales, attributed to a tepid Diwali demand for small appliances and a delayed start to the cooler and air conditioner manufacturing season. However, captive consumption of motors for the appliance business remains strong. The personal care segment, including hair straighteners and trimmers, faced a 9% YoY decline due to weaker demand.
Strategic Initiatives and Future Outlook
Elin Electronics is actively pursuing several strategic initiatives to sustain its growth trajectory. A key focus is the new manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, which is under construction. This plant is designed to produce medium-sized home appliances such as air coolers, chimneys, air fryers, and OTGs. The company plans to shift its OFR business from Ghaziabad to Bhiwadi to optimize operations. While the facility's commissioning has been slightly delayed to May 2026 due to pollution control restrictions in the NCR, it is expected to be a significant growth driver, with a projected revenue potential of INR 550-600 crore at full utilization, and an expected EBITDA margin of 7-7.5% and ROCE of 20%.
New product development is another cornerstone of the company's strategy. Elin Electronics is set to launch cooler motors and BLDC chimney motors by the next fiscal year. Trials are underway for washing machine motors, and the company is exploring opportunities in AC/ODU/IDU BLDC motors. These initiatives align with the government's 'Make in India' thrust and the increasing adoption of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) norms, which are expected to boost local manufacturing, particularly in the FHP motor segment.
Navigating Challenges and Maintaining Focus
Despite the positive growth, Elin Electronics faced challenges, notably the surging raw material costs which marginally impacted gross margins. Management acknowledged this transparently, explaining that repricing mechanisms with customers help mitigate these effects over time. The company also noted an increase in net working capital days to approximately 68 days due to higher-than-normal inventory levels, which they expect to normalize within the current quarter. The loss of higher-margin export business due to tariff situations also slightly impacted EBITDA margins, though the company remains optimistic about resolving this and adding new export projects.
For FY26, Elin Electronics has provided guidance of 9-10% revenue growth over FY25 and an EBITDA margin of 5.3-5.8%. The planned capital expenditure for FY26 is INR 105 crore, allocated between the Bhiwadi facility and existing business expansion. The company's strategic focus on backward integration, new product development, and customer diversification positions it to capitalize on market opportunities and navigate industry headwinds effectively. The management's balanced commentary, acknowledging both achievements and challenges, underscores a commitment to transparent communication and disciplined execution.
