Rashi Peripherals Limited (RP Tech) reported a record start to FY27, supported by strong pricing, solid enterprise demand, and a noticeable improvement in working capital efficiency. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), consolidated revenue from operations rose to Rs 5,101.9 crore, up 61.9% year-on-year. EBITDA increased to Rs 155.3 crore (up 50.0% YoY) and profit after tax (PAT) grew faster than the topline to Rs 104.6 crore (up 69.5% YoY).
The company’s commentary focused on a mix of cyclical tailwinds and structural drivers. Management highlighted a multi-year PC refresh cycle linked to the transition away from Windows 10, rising adoption of AI-capable PCs with higher average selling prices, and a sharp shift in component economics driven by AI data centre demand. In practical terms, management expects unit volumes to see some pressure in pockets, but market value to rise as prices remain firm due to shortages.
Segment mix: enterprise-led quarter, consumer stays mixed
RP Tech operates through two broad segments in its investor presentation. Personal Computing and Enterprise Solutions (PES) is positioned as the enterprise bundling engine, while Lifestyle and IT Essentials (LIT) is a faster-turning consumer-focused portfolio.
In Q1 FY27, PES revenue was Rs 3,384.7 crore, while LIT revenue was Rs 1,717.2 crore. This implies an enterprise-heavy mix for the quarter, which management also linked to margin movement. On the call, the CFO attributed gross margin changes primarily to product mix, noting that PES typically carries lower margins than LIT.
Management also provided a directional view of end-demand exposure. While RP Tech sells through partners and not directly to end customers, management’s general sense was that about 30% to 35% of business is consumer-centric, with the balance 60% to 65% being commercial, split between SMB and enterprise. The call also flagged consumer affordability as a watch item, with management stating laptop prices had become about two times versus last year, while commercial buying continues because enterprises cannot postpone refresh cycles indefinitely.
Working capital: the quarter’s most important operational signal
The quarter’s performance was not only about growth, but also about how tightly the balance sheet was managed while scaling. RP Tech reported working capital days of 56 in Q1 FY27 compared with 73 in Q1 FY26. Inventory days reduced to 55 from 64, and debtor days improved sharply to 41 from 53. Creditor days were 40 versus 44.
In an ICT distribution model where low margins are paired with high throughput, this matters because it determines how much growth can be funded internally and how much depends on incremental borrowings. On the call, the CFO also disclosed net debt at the end of June 2026 at Rs 1,285 crore.
The balance sheet data in the presentation shows inventories at Rs 2,553.7 crore and trade receivables at Rs 2,184.2 crore as of Q1 FY27, reflecting scale-up in absolute terms alongside the improvement in efficiency metrics.
What is driving growth: pricing, mix, and market share
A key investor question was how much of the reported growth is value versus volume. Management provided an explicit decomposition: of the roughly 60% growth in April to June versus the prior year quarter, about 30% to 35% was attributed to price increases, 5% to 10% to new products and brands, and 20% to 25% to higher quantities.
They also stated unit growth was about 20% excluding a major unit decline in a memory brand (SanDisk), and added that market share improved by about 10%.
On near-term visibility, management indicated the pricing uptrend is expected to continue in Q2 as well, though the pace of price increases may slow. They also noted July to September is traditionally a strong quarter for the company.
Strategy: moving beyond distribution through services and semiconductors
Alongside the operating cycle, RP Tech is trying to reshape the quality of earnings through two strategic moves.
First, the company announced a strategic acquisition/investment in VDA Infosolutions, described as a pan-India system integrator with enterprise capabilities. Management framed this as forward integration into implementation, consulting, managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, and data protection. Importantly, management said the immediate objective is capability building rather than topline expansion, and suggested roughly 5% of the portfolio could come from integrated services and value-added solutions. They also indicated Q2 reporting will give a clearer view.
Second, the company announced a semiconductor joint venture with Restar Corporation of Japan. Management described Restar as a Tokyo Exchange-listed semiconductor distribution company and said the JV will be named Rashi Restar Semiconductor Solutions Private Limited. The company’s existing embedded business is expected to move into the JV. The strategic intent is to combine Restar’s design and semiconductor application know-how with RP Tech’s distribution reach.
Management gave an example of chip-based automotive lighting solutions designed in its Bangalore lab for Indian electric vehicles to explain what “design solutions” means in this context. The company also mentioned an engineering capability buildout with skill transfer from Japanese experts and 50 plus local engineering hires over the next two years. The explicit aspiration shared on the call was to reach more than USD 100 million in revenue under the JV within three years, with management stating the margin profile would be higher than co-distribution.
Key takeaways
RP Tech’s Q1 FY27 numbers reflect a strong cycle, but also show discipline that typically separates durable distributors from those that only look good in a good market. Revenue and profits grew sharply, and working capital days improved despite higher scale. Management also stayed clear that pricing tailwinds may moderate, while enterprise demand remains resilient.
The next set of milestones to watch are less about whether the core distribution engine continues to benefit from the current cycle and more about whether the strategic moves begin to show visible financial shape. Management has indicated Q2 should provide better reporting visibility on the VDA acquisition and the semiconductor JV structure. If those initiatives start adding higher-margin streams over time, it could change the quality of earnings beyond the current super-cycle.
