Technocraft Industries Navigates Q3 FY26 with Resilience and Strategic Vision
Technocraft Industries (India) Limited has reported a balanced performance for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, ending December 31, 2025. Despite facing global geopolitical headwinds and tariff uncertainties, the company demonstrated resilience, with consolidated operating revenue reaching ₹662.43 crore, marking a modest 3% year-on-year increase. Profit Before Tax (PBT) saw a significant jump of 27% year-on-year, totaling ₹73.69 crore, reflecting strategic adjustments and operational efficiencies. The company's diverse business segments, including Drum Closures, Scaffolding Systems, Textiles, and Engineering & Designing Services, each contributed to the overall performance, albeit with varying degrees of success and challenges.
The Scaffolding and Formwork division, a major revenue contributor, experienced a challenging period from July to November, primarily due to delays in US capital expenditure projects and uncertainties surrounding tariffs. This led to a notable compression in segment margins, which dropped to an all-time low of approximately 8% during the quarter, significantly below the company's target of 15%. However, management noted a strong rebound in demand starting November, with December sales being particularly robust, a trend that has continued into the new year. The newly established Aluminium Extrusion project in Aurangabad is already showing positive contributions to revenue, EBIT, and margins, underscoring the benefits of backward integration. The company is actively focusing on securing high-margin orders and expects a recovery in scaffolding margins to 15% in the coming fiscal year, assuming a stable geopolitical environment.
The Drum Closures division continued its steady performance, with volumes in China showing consistent growth. The recent reduction in US tariffs from 50% to 25% on non-steel content is a favorable development, as it eliminates the need for the company to absorb a portion of these costs, which is anticipated to positively impact margins. The Textile division, while still navigating industry-wide disturbances and tariffs, is showing signs of a turnaround. The Yarn segment has achieved positive EBIT, and the Fabric segment is nearing break-even. The Garment division, however, remains a concern, operating at approximately 60% capacity utilization and incurring losses. Management is implementing restructuring initiatives and strengthening its team to improve operational efficiency and aims to increase garment capacity utilization to 80-90% in the next few months, driven by anticipated orders from the US market. The company is also strategically shifting its focus towards value-added textile products and exploring new domestic and international territories to mitigate global uncertainties.
The Engineering & Designing Services segment continues to be a strong growth driver, demonstrating a 32% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹70.44 crore. This division, a global technology services company, offers broad-based engineering, designing, and IT services across various industry verticals, including heavy machinery, automotive, and high-tech. Management expects this segment to maintain a steady growth trajectory of 25% year-on-year with stable margins of around 15%, driven by strong acceptance of its offshore global delivery model and increasing demand for manufacturing automation and prototyping services. The company's commitment to innovation and its diversified client base, spread globally across the US, Canada, UK, and Germany, position this segment for continued success.
Looking ahead, Technocraft Industries is focused on strategic expansions and operational improvements across its divisions. Plans include doubling scaffolding capacity by FY29 and adding a Phase 2 extrusion plant and increasing Mach One capacity by early FY27-28. The company projects the Scaffolding and Formwork segment to achieve ₹2,000 crore in revenue within the next three years. With a strong credit rating of CRISIL AA-/Stable for long-term facilities and CRISIL A1+ for short-term, Technocraft is well-positioned to capitalize on growth opportunities in infrastructure development in India and globally, while prudently managing market volatilities and competitive pressures. The company's disciplined capital allocation strategy, including rewarding shareholders through buybacks and dividends, further reinforces investor confidence.
