MoU sets out electric freight ambition
BikeWo Green Tech Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with Green Drive Auto Services Private Limited, which operates as Green Drive Mobility, to expand electric logistics operations in India. The companies intend to build a fleet of at least 5,000 electric trucks over the coming years. The proposed partnership spans last-mile, mid-mile and long-haul freight transportation. It is aimed at industrial freight, retail distribution, regional transport and longer-distance logistics. The MoU is part of BikeWo's stated plan to build an integrated mobility and logistics platform. The companies have not announced a deployment schedule or implementation milestones.
Roles proposed under the partnership
Green Drive Mobility is expected to contribute fleet operating experience, enterprise customer relationships and logistics infrastructure. BikeWo is proposed to focus on fleet ownership, financing, institutional partnerships and the development of electric logistics operations. This division places vehicle operations and customer access alongside BikeWo's planned capital and fleet-development role. Both companies also intend to build enterprise partnerships and extend their geographic reach. Technology-led fleet management is another area identified for collaboration. Commercial terms will need to be agreed before the proposed arrangement moves to implementation.
BikeWo signals investment intention
BikeWo has expressed its intention to invest up to ₹150 crore in Green Drive Mobility over the coming years. The proposed investment remains subject to mutually agreed commercial terms, business requirements, approvals and definitive agreements. No investment structure, timing or specific use of funds has been disclosed. The announcement therefore represents an intention under an MoU rather than a confirmed capital commitment. Details on ownership, funding tranches and vehicle procurement have not been announced. Investors will need to wait for subsequent disclosures to assess the financial structure of the proposed transaction.
Freight uses cover multiple transport segments
The proposed electric truck fleet is intended to serve several parts of the freight chain. Last-mile operations generally cover delivery from local distribution points to final destinations. Mid-mile transport connects warehouses, hubs and distribution centres. Long-haul operations involve transportation over longer routes between regions or industrial locations. The companies also cited industrial freight, retail distribution and regional transport as intended applications. The broad scope indicates that the partnership is designed to assess opportunities across different enterprise logistics requirements.
Key announced details
Part of a wider logistics strategy
The Green Drive MoU follows other initiatives disclosed by BikeWo in electric mobility and logistics. The company has said it aims to develop capabilities across fleet ownership, leasing, operations and strategic partnerships. In September 2026, BikeWo entered a non-binding MoU with electric tractor company Moonrider to explore deployments in agriculture, industrial facilities, warehouses, logistics hubs, airports and ports. BikeWo also incorporated Bikewo Logistics and Infrastructure Private Limited in September 2026. These steps show the company's focus on building logistics-related operations beyond electric two-wheelers or individual vehicle deployment.
Previous technology and fleet initiatives
BikeWo signed an MoU with Evify Logitech in August 2026 to explore an AI-led technology and data platform for electric logistics. That arrangement included a proposed initial deployment of about 500 electric vehicles for Evify's operations. Subject to successful implementation and agreed arrangements, the parties envisaged a potential cumulative deployment of about 10,000 vehicles over three years. BikeWo has also announced an MoU with Hala Mobility involving an initial target of about 1,000 EVs and a possible scale-up to around 10,000 over three years. Each of these proposals remains subject to respective commercial and operational conditions.
Market relevance for electric logistics
For the logistics sector, the planned truck fleet would address freight categories where fleet utilisation, route planning and servicing arrangements are central to operations. The partnership's stated emphasis on fleet management technology could support monitoring of vehicles and operating performance if deployments proceed. For enterprise customers, the relevant factors will include the availability of vehicles, operating fit and commercial arrangements. The announcement does not provide expected revenue, profitability, vehicle models, charging plans or customer contracts. It also does not confirm the number of trucks that will be deployed in any particular year.
What remains to be finalised
The MoU establishes a framework for the companies to explore a larger electric freight platform, but several elements remain pending. BikeWo and Green Drive Mobility must finalise commercial terms, investment arrangements and implementation milestones. Required approvals and definitive agreements will also be necessary. Hiten Pal Saklani, chief executive officer of BikeWo Green Tech, said the partnership would combine Green Drive Mobility's operating experience and enterprise relationships with BikeWo's investment and fleet-development capabilities. Further announcements are expected when the investment structure, deployment schedule and milestones are finalised.
