Monolithisch India Limited reported its highest quarterly financial performance for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The maker of premixed silica ramming mass for induction-furnace steelmaking posted strong growth in revenue, operating profit and profit after tax. Its Q2 FY27 results were declared on 24 October 2026.
The company said higher contribution from its premium Super Grade Boron, or SGB, products supported the quarter's performance. Alongside the financial results, Monolithisch India outlined progress in mining and manufacturing projects intended to strengthen its raw-material supply and expand its geographic reach.
Revenue rises to ₹53.59 crore
Revenue for Q2 FY27 rose 88.2% year on year to ₹53.59 crore, from ₹28.48 crore in Q2 FY26. The increase reflects stronger revenue generation from high-end SGB products, according to the information released with the results.
The company handled approximately 55,000 metric tonnes of finished product during the quarter. Revenue growth was materially ahead of the prior-year quarterly level, providing the base for a larger increase in operating and net profitability.
EBITDA growth exceeds revenue expansion
EBITDA rose 192.2% year on year to ₹15.80 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹5.41 crore a year earlier. The faster growth in EBITDA than revenue resulted in a substantial expansion in operating margin.
EBITDA margin increased to 29.5% from 19.0% in Q2 FY26. This represents an improvement of 1,049 basis points. The margin movement indicates that profitability improved as the company increased sales during the quarter.
Profit after tax reaches ₹11.17 crore
Profit after tax rose 145.1% to ₹11.17 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹4.56 crore in the corresponding period of FY26. PAT margin improved to 20.8%, compared with 16.0% a year earlier, an increase of 484 basis points.
Diluted earnings per share stood at ₹5.14, up from ₹2.22 in Q2 FY26. The company also reported gross profit of ₹35.70 crore, up 142.6% year on year, with a gross profit margin of 66.7%.
Key Q2 FY27 financial metrics
SGB products gain a larger revenue share
SGB Limited products accounted for 61% of Monolithisch India's revenue in Q2 FY27. Their contribution had been about 50% in Q1 FY27 and 15% in Q4 FY26, showing a marked increase in the product mix within a short period.
Management expects the SGB segment to contribute about 70% of revenue for FY27. The Q2 result indicates that this higher-value product category was an important factor behind the improvement in gross profit and EBITDA margins.
Purulia plant begins commercial production
Commercial production began at the company's Metalurgica greenfield plant in Purulia, West Bengal, on 10 October 2026, after the close of the Q2 reporting period. Dry trials at the facility began on 17 September 2026.
The plant has annual capacity of about 2.52 lakh to 2.54 lakh metric tonnes. Its commissioning takes Monolithisch India's total installed capacity to 5.76 lakh metric tonnes per annum. Since commercial operations commenced after the quarter ended, the plant's production was not part of Q2 FY27 operations.
Rajasthan and Karnataka expansion plans
Monolithisch India has proposed two additional manufacturing facilities with combined capacity of 3 lakh metric tonnes per annum. The company has estimated investment of ₹45 crore for these projects.
The Udaipur, Rajasthan facility is planned with capacity of 1.75 lakh metric tonnes per annum, with commercialisation targeted for November 2027. The proposed plant near Hospet, Karnataka, will have capacity of 1.25 lakh metric tonnes per annum, with commercialisation targeted for July 2027.
Mining block supports raw-material strategy
The company has secured allotment of a quartzite mining block in Bihar with approved mining capacity of 7.10 lakh metric tonnes per annum. The allotment covers 35.5 lakh metric tonnes over a five-year period.
Commercial mining is targeted around mid-January 2027, subject to necessary approvals. Monolithisch India has said it intends to fund the initiative through internal accruals and cash released through inventory optimisation. The stated objective is to improve raw-material security and operational efficiency.
Capacity target and FY27 outlook
With the Purulia plant operational and the proposed Rajasthan and Karnataka projects, Monolithisch India aims to raise total installed capacity to 8.75 lakh metric tonnes per annum by Q3 FY28. The planned additions would extend its manufacturing footprint across eastern, western and southern India.
The company has maintained FY27 revenue guidance of ₹250 crore. It plans to update its revenue outlook after mining operations begin. It also targets a 40% reduction in inventory holding period by the end of FY27.
Why the results matter
The Q2 FY27 numbers show that Monolithisch India achieved profit growth faster than revenue growth, alongside higher contributions from SGB products. EBITDA margin expanded by more than 10 percentage points, while PAT margin rose by 4.84 percentage points.
The next reported periods will show the contribution from the Purulia facility, which started commercial production after Q2 ended. Progress on mining approvals, inventory optimisation, and the Karnataka and Rajasthan projects will remain relevant to the company's stated FY27 and FY28 operating plans.
