PNC Infratech Q2 FY27 Revenue Rises 17%, Profit Falls
Ask Iris
PNC Infratech Ltd reported higher consolidated revenue for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, but its profit declined sharply from the year-earlier period. The infrastructure construction and development company recorded revenue from operations of ₹1,322.47 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹1,127.64 crore in Q2 FY26. This represents year-on-year growth of 17.28%. Consolidated net profit fell 46.83% to ₹114.68 crore from ₹215.70 crore. The results were approved by the board on October 28, 2026. The quarterly performance reflects stronger revenue execution, particularly in Road EPC, alongside a higher expense base.
Revenue rises by ₹194.83 crore
Revenue from operations increased by ₹194.83 crore from the corresponding quarter last year. The reported Q2 FY27 revenue of ₹1,322.47 crore was also broadly consistent with the market snapshot figure of ₹1,320 crore, which indicated a ₹192 crore increase over the prior-year comparison. The company’s consolidated numbers provide the more precise basis for assessing the quarter. Higher construction activity in the Road EPC business was the principal contributor to revenue growth. PNC Infratech operates across Road Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Water EPC, and Build-Operate-Transfer projects that include toll and annuity assets. These segments together determine the company’s quarterly operating performance.
Profit declines despite top-line growth
Consolidated profit after tax stood at ₹114.68 crore in Q2 FY27, down from ₹215.70 crore in Q2 FY26. The decline amounted to ₹101.02 crore on a year-on-year basis. Revenue growth therefore did not translate into a similar rise in net earnings during the quarter. The company reported total expenses of ₹1,217.76 crore, up 18.3% from ₹1,029.60 crore a year earlier. Expense growth was faster than the 17.3% increase in revenue, placing pressure on profitability. The results underline the difference between project execution-led revenue expansion and bottom-line performance.
Operating profit records moderate growth
Operating profit increased to ₹278.84 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹253.02 crore in Q2 FY26. This was a year-on-year increase of 10.2%. A separate quarterly disclosure described consolidated EBITDA at about ₹280 crore, compared with ₹253 crore in the prior-year quarter, or growth of 10.7%. The broadly similar figures indicate that operating earnings improved, though at a slower pace than revenue. The gap between revenue growth and operating-profit growth is consistent with the reported increase in expenses. Net profit declined more sharply than operating profit, highlighting the importance of costs and other items beyond top-line execution in the reported quarter.
Road EPC remains the main revenue driver
Road segment revenue was ₹1,027.97 crore in Q2 FY27, up from ₹820.61 crore in Q2 FY26. The increase of ₹207.36 crore made Road EPC the key contributor to the company’s year-on-year revenue expansion. Water segment revenue declined to ₹123.59 crore from ₹131.17 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from toll and annuity projects rose marginally to ₹177.09 crore from ₹175.86 crore. Segment figures may not add directly to the reported consolidated revenue because of segment reporting and consolidation treatments. Still, the disclosed data shows that the road business carried most of the quarter’s growth.
Sequential segment movement was mixed
The company’s segment disclosures also show different trends from the preceding June quarter. Road revenue was lower than ₹1,382.01 crore reported in Q1 FY27. Water revenue declined from ₹136.63 crore in the June quarter to ₹123.59 crore in the September quarter. Toll and annuity revenue increased from ₹169.82 crore in Q1 FY27 to ₹177.09 crore in Q2 FY27. These movements show that quarterly revenue patterns varied across the company’s operating businesses. The year-on-year comparison, however, remained positive at the consolidated revenue level.
NHAI debarment orders were stayed
The quarter was reported against the backdrop of debarment orders involving the company and its special purpose vehicle, Awadh Expressways. The National Highways Authority of India issued a debarment order against Awadh Expressways on September 3, 2026. On September 11, the order was extended to PNC Infratech. The orders sought to bar the company and the special purpose vehicle from bidding for projects involving NHAI, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and their executing agencies for three years. The Delhi High Court granted an interim stay on both orders on October 13, 2026. The company’s board meeting outcome for the Q2 and half-year results also noted this interim stay.
Share price closes marginally lower
PNC Infratech shares closed 0.50% lower at ₹134.50 following the reported results. The price movement came as the market assessed higher revenue alongside the substantial decline in consolidated profit. For investors, the quarter presents two contrasting operating signals. Road EPC revenue improved strongly on a year-on-year basis, indicating continued activity at project sites. At the same time, the increase in total expenses and lower profit after tax remain central to evaluating the financial outcome. The interim court stay on the debarment orders is also a relevant development for the company’s ability to participate in specified bidding processes while the matter remains unresolved.

Why the quarter matters
PNC Infratech’s Q2 FY27 results show that revenue growth alone did not offset the impact of higher expenses on earnings. The 17.28% increase in consolidated revenue was led by Road EPC, while the Water business reported lower revenue and toll and annuity revenue grew only marginally. The 46.83% fall in net profit makes cost trends a significant part of the quarter’s financial picture. The company’s position in future NHAI and MoRTH-linked bidding processes also remains relevant following the Delhi High Court’s interim stay. Future disclosures on project execution, expenses, segment performance and the legal proceedings will provide further context for investors assessing the company’s performance.
