Why did CONCOR’s Q2 profit fall?
CONCOR’s consolidated profit for the September 2026 quarter fell by Rs 26.32 crore year on year to Rs 353.66 crore from Rs 379.98 crore. Profit before tax declined by Rs 43.44 crore to Rs 454.14 crore from Rs 497.58 crore, showing that the reduction occurred before tax rather than arising solely from the tax line.
The Rs 347.16 crore figure in the September-quarter results is CONCOR’s standalone profit after tax, compared with Rs 376.75 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2025. The consolidated statement, which includes subsidiaries and joint ventures, reported profit of Rs 353.66 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.

What were CONCOR’s first-half FY27 results and cash flows?
CONCOR reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 4,538.33 crore for the six months ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 4,508.16 crore in the comparable 2025 period. Consolidated profit for the six-month period was Rs 622.56 crore, down from Rs 647.26 crore, while profit before tax declined to Rs 814.25 crore from Rs 846.62 crore.
Rail freight expense for the first half was Rs 2,484.06 crore versus Rs 2,461.54 crore a year earlier, and other operating expenses rose to Rs 663.13 crore from Rs 614.22 crore. The first-half expense movement was therefore consistent with the September-quarter pattern of revenue growth alongside a lower profit outcome.
Consolidated net cash from operating activities increased to Rs 795.11 crore in the six months ended September 30, 2026 from Rs 759.88 crore in the prior-year period. CONCOR used Rs 609.53 crore in investing activities, including Rs 448.73 crore of payments for property, plant and equipment, and ended September 30, 2026 with cash and cash equivalents of Rs 577.02 crore.
What balance-sheet and reporting matters did CONCOR disclose?
CONCOR reported consolidated total assets of Rs 15,767.99 crore at September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 15,175.66 crore at March 31, 2026. Non-current assets rose to Rs 10,660.87 crore from Rs 10,413.26 crore, current assets rose to Rs 5,107.12 crore from Rs 4,762.40 crore, and consolidated equity was Rs 13,369.04 crore.
The auditor drew attention to land licence fee paid or payable to Indian Railways for leased land under a Railways Master Circular dated October 4, 2022. CONCOR said its assessment of the fee was not final because lease terms and land market value remained uncertain, and it had not recognised a right-of-use asset or lease liability for that land under Indian Accounting Standard 116.
The review report dated November 2, 2026 also recorded that CONCOR had one independent director on its board at September 30, 2026. The auditor said this was not compliant with Section 149(4) of the Companies Act, 2013 and relevant Securities and Exchange Board of India listing requirements, while stating that its review conclusion was not modified for this matter.
Conclusion
CONCOR’s September 2026 quarter showed a Rs 24.04 crore increase in consolidated revenue from operations but a Rs 26.32 crore decline in consolidated profit. EXIM and domestic revenue both increased, yet rail freight, operating expenses, employee costs, finance cost and depreciation together produced a higher expense base and lower profit before tax.
The next results will show whether the sequential rise in EXIM revenue to Rs 1,591.90 crore and domestic revenue to Rs 786.67 crore continues. CONCOR also has unresolved accounting exposure around the non-final Indian Railways land licence fee and lease terms disclosed at September 30, 2026, alongside the board composition matter identified in the November 2, 2026 review report.
