Why did Globale Tessile's cash balance fall?
Globale Tessile's cash and cash equivalents fell by Rs 5.58 crore in the half year ended September 30, 2026, declining from Rs 5.61 crore at the financial-year opening to Rs 2.62 lakh at period end. The reported decrease reflects the combined effect of negative operating and financing cash flows, partly offset by investing inflows.
Operating activities used Rs 1.26 crore, while financing activities used Rs 5.44 crore. Investing activities generated Rs 1.12 crore, comprising Rs 86.34 lakh from net withdrawal of or investment in fixed deposits and Rs 26.07 lakh of interest received. Those investing inflows were insufficient to offset the two cash outflows.
The comparison covers six months to September 2026 and a full year to March 2026, so it is not a like-for-like run-rate comparison. It nevertheless records a change in direction: operating activities generated Rs 1.62 crore in the year ended March 31, 2026 but used Rs 1.26 crore in the latest half year, while the financing outflow rose to Rs 5.44 crore from Rs 78.72 lakh.
How much did trade receivables increase at Globale Tessile?
Globale Tessile's trade receivables increased by Rs 10.19 crore during the half year, based on the negative receivables movement in its cash-flow statement. The balance-sheet receivables balance was Rs 10.88 crore on September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 68.93 lakh on March 31, 2026.
The receivables build-up was the largest disclosed negative working-capital movement. It exceeded the Rs 6.43 crore cash contribution from increased trade payables, the Rs 1.21 crore contribution from lower inventories, Rs 75.30 lakh from lower other current assets, and Rs 20.25 lakh from lower current other financial assets. After these movements, cash generated from operations was negative Rs 1.26 crore.
Inventory moved in the opposite direction, falling to Rs 9.60 crore on September 30 from Rs 10.82 crore on March 31. The Rs 1.21 crore reduction released cash, but did not offset the increase in receivables. Trade payables rose to Rs 11.43 crore from Rs 5.00 crore, providing the Rs 6.43 crore operating cash-flow benefit disclosed in the statement.
The filing does not disclose the ageing of receivables or payables, collection terms, or reasons for the period-end movements. It identifies only one reportable operating segment under Accounting Standard 108, meaning it provides no separate product-line or segment-level receivables information for the half year ended September 30, 2026.

Was Globale Tessile profitable in the first half?
Globale Tessile reported profit before tax of Rs 28.75 lakh and profit after tax of Rs 21.56 lakh for the half year ended September 30, 2026. In the corresponding half year ended September 30, 2025, it reported a loss before tax of Rs 76.93 lakh and a loss after tax of Rs 61.98 lakh.
Revenue from operations increased to Rs 25.61 crore from Rs 3.79 crore in the prior-year half year. Total revenue, including other income, rose to Rs 25.87 crore from Rs 4.05 crore, while total expenditure rose to Rs 25.58 crore from Rs 4.82 crore. The difference produced profit from operations before exceptional items and tax of Rs 28.75 lakh, against a loss of Rs 76.93 lakh a year earlier.
The cash-flow statement begins with the same Rs 28.75 lakh profit before exceptional items and tax. It then records Rs 40.10 lakh of interest paid, Rs 26.07 lakh of interest received, Rs 1.95 lakh of deferred revenue expenses written off and a Rs 44,000 gratuity provision, resulting in operating profit before working-capital changes of Rs 45.16 lakh.
Profit and operating cash flow therefore diverged in the six-month period because the cash-flow statement includes balance-sheet movements. The Rs 10.19 crore receivables increase absorbed cash after operating profit, while lower inventory and higher payables provided only partial offsets.
What changed in Globale Tessile's borrowings and liquidity?
Globale Tessile's current borrowings fell to Rs 5.02 crore on September 30, 2026 from Rs 10.31 crore on March 31, 2026. Its cash-flow statement records a Rs 5.29 crore net outflow under short-term borrowings, Rs 40.10 lakh of interest paid and Rs 25 lakh of proceeds from long-term borrowings.
Non-current borrowings stood at Rs 25 lakh at September 30, compared with nil at March 31. Total equity increased to Rs 9.80 crore from Rs 9.59 crore as other equity improved to negative Rs 81.82 lakh from negative Rs 1.03 crore; equity share capital remained Rs 10.62 crore.
Current assets totalled Rs 25.96 crore at September 30, compared with Rs 24.38 crore at March 31. They included Rs 10.88 crore of trade receivables, Rs 9.60 crore of inventories and Rs 2.62 lakh of cash and cash equivalents. Current liabilities rose to Rs 16.52 crore from Rs 15.51 crore, as the increase in trade payables partly offset the reduction in current borrowings.
The September 30 position concentrated a larger part of current assets in receivables rather than cash. The company also confirmed that it had no subsidiary, associate or joint venture as of that date, so the reported cash, borrowing and working-capital positions relate to the standalone entity.
Conclusion
Globale Tessile returned to a first-half profit, reporting Rs 21.56 lakh after tax against a Rs 61.98 lakh loss a year earlier, but this did not translate into higher cash. The Rs 10.19 crore receivables increase exceeded the cash released by the Rs 1.21 crore inventory reduction and was only partly offset by the Rs 6.43 crore increase in trade payables.
The next point to watch is whether later disclosures show collection of the Rs 10.88 crore receivables balance and a recovery from the Rs 2.62 lakh cash position at September 30, 2026. The October 30, 2026 filing discloses no receivables collection target, financing plan or segment-level outlook, leaving those working-capital movements unresolved.
