Why did Advance Lifestyle report an operating cash outflow?
Advance Lifestyle reported a Rs 4.589 crore operating cash outflow because working-capital movements and non-cash accounting adjustments outweighed its reported half-year profit. Profit before tax was Rs 1.165016 crore for the half year ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 25.3765 lakh in the corresponding 2025 period. Yet operating cash flow before working-capital changes was negative Rs 25.339 lakh, against negative Rs 18.355 lakh a year earlier.
The reconciliation deducted a Rs 2.692295 crore fair value measurement gain and added Rs 1.267365 crore of interest and finance costs. Advance Lifestyle said in its September 2026 results that the fair value gain related to loans and was recognised in other income under Indian Accounting Standard 109, or Ind AS 109, Financial Instruments. It also added back Rs 6.753 lakh of depreciation and amortisation and deducted Rs 2,290 of interest income on loans and advances.
Working-capital changes then took cash used in operations to Rs 4.589 crore. Other current assets increased by Rs 4.296711 crore, while other financial liabilities declined by Rs 47,800, other current liabilities declined by Rs 27,430 and short-term provisions declined by Rs 3.1376 lakh. The cash-flow statement shows no income-tax payment or refund for the half year ended September 30, 2026.
How did other current assets change Advance Lifestyle's cash flow?
Advance Lifestyle's Rs 4.296711 crore increase in other current assets was the largest stated use of cash in the September 2026 half year. In the corresponding half year ended September 30, 2025, the same line produced a Rs 6.0663 lakh cash inflow rather than an outflow. That year-on-year reversal accounts for much of the expansion from a Rs 21.5973 lakh operating outflow to Rs 4.589 crore.
The filing does not provide a component-wise breakdown of the Rs 4.296711 crore movement in other current assets. It does show total assets of Rs 76.284640 crore at September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 76.580102 crore at March 31, 2026. Investors therefore cannot determine from this filing alone which asset categories within the other-current-assets line drove the operating cash use.
Advance Lifestyle's half-year profit after tax was Rs 1.168366 crore, compared with Rs 25.3535 lakh in the prior-year half year, but this accounting result did not translate into positive operating cash flow. The Rs 2.692295 crore fair value measurement gain exceeded the Rs 1.165016 crore profit before tax. The company described that gain as a measurement of loans under Ind AS 109 rather than as a cash receipt.

How did loans and advances affect Advance Lifestyle's cash balance?
Advance Lifestyle generated a Rs 4.10 crore investing cash inflow from the decrease in short-term loans and advances during the half year ended September 30, 2026. This inflow partly offset the Rs 4.589 crore operating outflow. The company reported Rs 83.7993 lakh from this line in the September 2025 half year, when total investing cash inflow was Rs 5.270788 crore.
Short-term loans and advances stood at Rs 2.15 crore on September 30, 2026, down from Rs 6.25 crore on March 31, 2026. The Rs 4.10 crore balance-sheet reduction matches the investing-cash-flow entry. Advance Lifestyle did not show an amount for financing cash flows in the September 2026 half-year statement, while the comparable 2025 period recorded a Rs 2.701488 crore financing outflow.
The combination of the Rs 4.589 crore operating outflow and Rs 4.10 crore investing inflow reduced cash by Rs 48.90 lakh in the latest half year. Cash and cash equivalents declined from Rs 62.6847 lakh at the beginning of the financial year to Rs 13.7847 lakh on September 30, 2026. In contrast, cash increased by Rs 2.353328 crore in the half year ended September 30, 2025, closing at Rs 2.374547 crore.
What do Advance Lifestyle's profit and liabilities show?
Advance Lifestyle reported Rs 1.168366 crore of profit after tax in the half year ended September 30, 2026, against Rs 25.3535 lakh a year earlier, while finance costs declined to Rs 1.267615 crore from Rs 1.319428 crore. The company said the finance-cost line was primarily attributable to present-value and effective-interest-rate effects required under Ind AS. Its cash-flow reconciliation showed Rs 1.267365 crore of interest and finance costs, Rs 2,500 below the profit-and-loss amount.
Total equity increased to Rs 33.487170 crore at September 30, 2026 from Rs 32.318804 crore at March 31, 2026. Long-term borrowings fell to Rs 32.427520 crore from Rs 33.852449 crore, while total current liabilities declined to Rs 10.369950 crore from Rs 10.408849 crore. The filing therefore records lower long-term borrowings alongside the fall in cash and cash equivalents to Rs 13.7847 lakh.
Advance Lifestyle identified mining and trading of bullion and precious metals, and real estate and infrastructure development, as operating segments under Ind AS 108, Operating Segments. Comparative segment information for the corresponding 2025 quarter and half year was not presented because the company said those operating segments had not then been separately identified, reviewed or reported. This prevents a direct prior-year segment comparison of the September 2026 cash-flow drivers.
Conclusion
Advance Lifestyle's September 2026 half-year results show that reported profit and operating cash moved in different directions. Profit after tax was Rs 1.168366 crore, but operations used Rs 4.589 crore as a Rs 4.296711 crore increase in other current assets and other working-capital movements followed the deduction of a Rs 2.692295 crore fair value gain on loans.
The next disclosures should show whether Advance Lifestyle can generate operating cash after its September 30, 2026 cash balance fell to Rs 13.7847 lakh. The filing leaves unresolved the composition of the increase in other current assets, while the Rs 4.10 crore reduction in short-term loans and advances was the principal offset to the operating outflow during the half year.
