How quickly has EPL expanded its sustainable tube portfolio?
EPL expanded its sustainable portfolio from 10% in FY23 to 41% in H1 FY27, with the largest disclosed annual increase occurring between FY24 and FY25. The share rose by 11 percentage points to 21% in FY24, then added 12 percentage points to 33% in FY25. It increased by a further five percentage points to 38% in FY26 and by three points in H1 FY27.
The progression means the sustainable share was more than four times its FY23 level by H1 FY27. The pace moderated after FY25: the 12-percentage-point increase in FY25 was followed by five points in FY26 and three points in the first half of FY27. EPL describes the work as scaling recyclable volumes through continuous improvement and does not state a future portfolio-share target.
The 41% measure covers EPL's portfolio rather than a separately reported revenue category, production volume or region. The presentation describes the products as sustainable tubes and frames the initiative around recyclable volumes. It does not provide a material, customer, geography or end-market breakdown for the remaining 59% of the portfolio.
What supports EPL's recyclable tube strategy?
EPL says Platina is its benchmark sustainable solution, with certifications through APR and CIPET. The company says it has achieved market success across regions by working with customers to promote sustainable-tube adoption, but does not disclose Platina sales, customer numbers, regional mix or the number of certified formats.
The strategy is presented alongside packaging-development examples in the Personal Care & beyond category. For P&G China, EPL shows a cap designed with 30% less plastic. It also developed a dual-chamber package with a 180-degree rotating cap for Lingqingxuan, an emerging cosmetics brand in China; the presentation does not say whether either example is included in the 41% sustainable portfolio.
EPL's Oral Care business highlights accelerated global commercialisation of sustainable Platina tubes and co-creation of sustainable solutions for customer requirements. In FY26, Personal Care & beyond revenue was Rs 2,360.8 crore, compared with Rs 2,106.3 crore for Oral Care. The sustainability presentation does not assign the sustainable-portfolio share to either category.
How have EPL's sustainability credentials changed?
EPL reported an EcoVadis Platinum Rating in August 2025, following Gold ratings in 2023 and June 2024. According to EPL, the Platinum rating placed it in the top 1% of assessed companies, representing a change in the disclosed rating tier from Gold to Platinum.
The presentation gives two assessment-population descriptions for the Platinum result. Its sustainability page says the top-1% standing is out of more than 1,500,000 companies assessed, while a separate August 2025 award page says it is among the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies assessed globally. EPL does not explain the difference between those figures.
EPL also says its Vasind, Nalagarh and Wada sites have Zero Waste to Landfill certification from SGS India Ltd. It retained its topmost A supplier-engagement rating for a third consecutive year and says it was recognised among the top approximately 2% of companies globally on the Climate & Water A List 2025.

What waste and community outcomes has EPL disclosed?
EPL reports collecting more than 55,000 kilograms of plastic waste through recycling and awareness drives. The company presents this under corporate social responsibility and does not disclose the reporting period, collection geography, recycling destination or the proportion converted into new products.
EPL says its corporate social responsibility programmes support seven selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and align with multiple government schemes. Its community work includes school buildings, computer laboratories, libraries, reverse-osmosis systems and village roads near plants, although the presentation gives no spending, location or completion-date detail for those projects.
EPL says it trained more than 1,200 young people in vocational and technical skills. Its Vapi flood-relief programme distributed more than 800 kits and reached more than 3,500 lives. The company presents these activities separately from the 41% product measure through its product, process and people sustainability categories.
What does the 41% sustainable portfolio indicate for EPL?
EPL's 41% sustainable-tube share shows that recyclable and sustainable formats formed a material part of the portfolio by H1 FY27, compared with 10% in FY23. Because the disclosure is product-based, it does not establish the contribution of sustainable tubes to revenue, profit or pricing.
The broader category data show growth in both disclosed businesses. Personal Care & beyond revenue rose 32.4% year on year to Rs 1,518.4 crore in YTD FY27, while Oral Care revenue increased 21.4% year on year to Rs 1,248.7 crore. EPL says Personal Care & beyond has delivered about 9% compound annual growth over 12 years, compared with about 5% for Oral Care, without directly linking either rate to sustainable products.
Conclusion
EPL has disclosed a substantial change in portfolio composition, with sustainable tubes rising 31 percentage points from FY23 to H1 FY27. Platina certifications, the August 2025 EcoVadis Platinum rating, three Zero Waste to Landfill-certified sites and more than 55,000 kilograms of collected plastic waste provide separate product, process and people indicators.
The next disclosed initiative to watch is EPL's acceleration of global commercialisation of sustainable Platina tubes and its work in progress to add sub-segments in Beauty & Cosmetics. A full-year FY27 portfolio measure would also show whether the increase from 38% in FY26 to 41% in H1 FY27 continues through the year.
