How did Fredun perform in H1 FY27?
Fredun delivered faster net-profit growth than total-income growth in H1 FY27. Standalone total income increased from Rs 265.15 crore in H1 FY26 to Rs 495.88 crore, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, rose 91.67% from Rs 39.33 crore to Rs 75.38 crore. Net profit increased from Rs 16.50 crore to Rs 31.99 crore over the same period.
The H1 FY27 margin figures also rose from a year earlier. EBITDA margin was 15.20%, compared with 14.83% in H1 FY26, an expansion of 37 basis points. Net profit margin rose 23 basis points to 6.45% from 6.22%, meaning net profit increased at a slightly faster rate than total income during the six-month period.
Management said growth came from both Fredun's established business and newer brands. It said the core formulations operation was adding higher-margin registrations, while pet care, mobility, nutrition and dermaceuticals were in a high-growth phase. The announcement did not provide revenue or profit contributions for those individual businesses in H1 FY27.
What did Fredun report for Q2 FY27?
Fredun reported standalone Q2 FY27 total income of Rs 267.64 crore, up 84.21% from Rs 145.29 crore in Q2 FY26. Q2 EBITDA increased 90.74% to Rs 42.60 crore from Rs 22.34 crore, and net profit rose 93.44% to Rs 18.83 crore from Rs 9.73 crore.
Quarterly margins were also ahead of the comparable prior-year quarter. Q2 FY27 EBITDA margin was 15.92%, compared with 15.37% in Q2 FY26, while net profit margin was 7.03%, against 6.70%. The respective increases were 55 basis points and 34 basis points, larger than the H1 margin expansions of 37 basis points and 23 basis points.
Q2 FY27 represented more than half of H1 FY27 total income, with Rs 267.64 crore recorded in the quarter out of Rs 495.88 crore for the half year. Fredun did not publish a separate first-quarter table in the announcement, so the filing does not support a direct Q1 comparison or a stated reason for the quarter-to-quarter movement.

What businesses are contributing to Fredun's expansion?
Fredun said its portfolio spans generic medicines, cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, mobility solutions and animal healthcare products. Its pharmaceutical range includes antihypertensives, antidiabetic products, antiretroviral drugs, narcotics, dietary and herbal supplements, and other healthcare products. Fredun said it primarily exports to Africa, Southeast Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States countries and Latin America.
Management identified formulations as Fredun's core business and said it was becoming more efficient while adding higher-margin registrations. It also said newer businesses in pet care, mobility, nutrition and dermaceuticals carry better margins, but did not disclose the revenue, EBITDA or margin of any of those segments for H1 FY27. Fredun GX was present in 19 states at the time of the November 6 announcement.
The H1 FY27 result also compares with the full FY26 figures included in the release. Fredun reported FY26 total revenue of Rs 639.12 crore, EBITDA of Rs 94.79 crore and profit after tax, or PAT, of Rs 33.21 crore. H1 FY27 net profit of Rs 31.99 crore was therefore close to the stated FY26 PAT, although the periods are not directly comparable because one covers six months and the other a full financial year.
What is Fredun doing in pet care and wellness?
Fredun acquired a 26% stake in Goodman Vetcare in September 2026 at a stated valuation of Rs 300 crore. Goodman plans to open more than eight new stores and is targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue by FY31. The filing does not disclose the price Fredun paid for the minority stake or the stake's financial contribution.
Also in September 2026, Fredun acquired the Furlicks pet-wellness brand from USV and its subsidiary Wellbeing Nutrition. Furlicks offers oral strips for skin and coat, gut health, joint care, calming, oral care and multivitamins. Fredun plans to introduce 16 products over the next six to nine months, expanding the range from six to 22 stock-keeping units, or SKUs.
The planned Furlicks additions include cold-extruded, air-dried and freeze-dried products, plus functional biscuits. On September 4, 2026, Fredun also launched PAWTALKS, a pet-healthcare knowledge platform providing expert content through YouTube and Instagram. Management said these initiatives sit alongside functional foods, diagnostics and the Wagr platform in its intended pet-wellness ecosystem.
Conclusion
Fredun's H1 FY27 filing shows that net profit grew faster than total income, as total income increased 87.02%, EBITDA rose 91.67% and net profit gained 93.92%. The accompanying 37-basis-point rise in EBITDA margin and 23-basis-point increase in net profit margin show that the reported income growth was accompanied by modest margin expansion.
The next disclosed milestones are the planned launch of 16 Furlicks products within six to nine months, Goodman Vetcare's plan for more than eight stores and its FY31 revenue target of Rs 100 crore. Management also said Fredun is expanding manufacturing capacity with the aim of creating one of the country's largest single-location manufacturing units, but did not provide an investment amount or completion date.
