Why did Kaka Industries’ property and equipment increase?
Kaka Industries commissioned and capitalised a 7.5 megawatt ground-mounted captive solar power plant at Bordi village in Thasra taluka, Kheda district, during the September 2026 half. Plant and machinery for the solar project worth Rs 25.9048 crore was added to property, plant and equipment from July 1, 2026.
Kaka Industries began charging depreciation on the solar plant to profit and loss from its July 1, 2026 capitalisation date. The company said this means depreciation in the half ended September 30, 2026 is not comparable with earlier reporting periods.
The company prepared the interim results under Accounting Standard 25, or AS 25, for interim financial reporting, rather than Indian Accounting Standards. It said companies listed on the small and medium enterprise exchange are exempt from compulsory Indian Accounting Standards adoption under the cited Ministry of Corporate Affairs notification, and it prepared its cash-flow statement under the indirect method prescribed by Accounting Standard 3.
How were Kaka Industries’ September 2026 results reviewed?
Kaka Industries’ statutory auditors completed a limited review of the standalone results for the half year ended September 30, 2026 and expressed an unmodified conclusion. A limited review is narrower in scope than an audit, and the auditor stated that nothing had come to its attention suggesting the statement did not disclose the required information or contained a material misstatement.
The filing says the March 31, 2026 half-year figures are balancing figures between the audited full-year results and the previously published, limited-reviewed results for the six months ended September 30, 2025. Kaka Industries also reported that it received no investor complaints and had none pending during the September 2026 half.
Conclusion
Kaka Industries reported higher revenue, profit before tax and net profit for the half year ended September 30, 2026. Revenue increased by Rs 32.575 crore year on year to Rs 157.4696 crore, while net profit rose by Rs 2.9084 crore to Rs 11.761 crore and earnings per share reached Rs 8.61.
The next results will show a fuller period of depreciation from the 7.5 megawatt captive solar plant, which was capitalised from July 1, 2026. The filing specifically identifies that depreciation as not comparable with earlier periods, while the September balance sheet also provides figures to track for inventories, receivables, borrowings and cash.
