What is Allcargo’s leadership transition plan?
Allcargo’s leadership transition is scheduled for January 1, 2027, when Nehra will become managing director and chief executive officer and Kulkarni will move to the Chief Growth Officer role at Allcargo Group. The management-team disclosure identifies Nehra as the managing director designate before the effective date.
The board presentation lists Nehra as an Additional Director, Chief Transformation Officer and managing director designate. Kulkarni remains Allcargo’s current managing director and chief executive officer, establishing a defined shift from the current operating leadership to Nehra’s planned mandate in 2027.
The disclosed change follows Q2FY27 consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 555 crore, compared with Rs 537 crore in Q2FY26, an increase of 3.4%. In H1FY27, revenue was Rs 1,101 crore, up 7.1% from Rs 1,028 crore in H1FY26.
Who is Vijay Nehra and what experience does he bring?
Nehra brings more than 27 years of leadership experience across supply chain, logistics, operations, finance, transformation and strategy, according to Allcargo. His current Chief Transformation Officer role connects his present responsibilities with the planned chief executive appointment on January 1, 2027.
Allcargo says Nehra has held senior leadership positions at Ozone Pharmaceuticals, Indiabulls Group and Hindustan Unilever. It identifies business restructuring, operational excellence, logistics, finance and strategy as his areas of expertise, but does not disclose financial targets or transition milestones specifically assigned to him before 2027.
The management team includes leaders across the company’s two named operating areas. Bipin Reghunathan is Chief Business Officer for Consultative Logistics and has more than 30 years of supply-chain and logistics leadership experience, while Amit Chhari heads Express operations and Samir Ahuja heads Express sales with 29-plus years across telecom, retail and logistics.
What will Ketan Kulkarni do after the CEO handover?
Kulkarni will assume the role of Chief Growth Officer, Allcargo Group, effective January 1, 2027. The presentation does not specify the duties, performance measures or reporting lines associated with that group-level role.
Kulkarni has more than three decades of leadership experience across logistics, consumer durables, fast-moving consumer goods, beverages and travel goods. Allcargo also notes his more than 17-year tenure as Chief Commercial Officer at Blue Dart Express, part of DHL Group, where it says he led sustainable and strategic growth initiatives.
The new group role will follow his leadership of a network with more than 700 facilities, more than 90 hubs, more than 80 logistics parks and about 2,800 people. Allcargo also reports 12 million-plus square feet of distribution and warehousing space and eight air logistics centres, although it does not state whether these assets will fall within Kulkarni’s future remit.
