Why did Allcargo Logistics revenue rise while managed space declined?
Allcargo Logistics reported higher Consultative Logistics revenue through its stated focus on yield and efficiency while continuously reviewing its customer and warehouse portfolio. Q2FY27 revenue reached Rs 169 crore, up from Rs 160 crore in Q2FY26, even as managed space reduced to 7.4 million square feet from 7.8 million square feet. The presentation describes the approach as “Deliver More from Less”, rather than making capacity expansion its principal revenue lever.
The pattern also continued sequentially in FY27. Consultative Logistics revenue increased 5.0% from Rs 161 crore in Q1FY27 to Rs 169 crore in Q2FY27, while space under management declined 2.3% from 7.5 million square feet to 7.4 million square feet. The presentation does not disclose warehouse occupancy, individual customer exits, pricing changes, or revenue per square foot, so it does not quantify the drivers of the higher revenue density.
What did Allcargo Logistics deliver in the first half of FY27?
Allcargo Logistics generated Rs 330 crore of Consultative Logistics revenue in H1FY27, a 5.8% increase from Rs 311 crore in H1FY26, while managed space was 7.4 million square feet, down 5.5% from 7.8 million square feet. The six-month results show that Q2FY27 was part of a broader period in which revenue grew despite a lower reported space base.
The company identifies the chemical segment as a continuing area of strength and says it is focusing its offering toward e-commerce. Its Consultative Logistics services include long-haul transportation, distribution centres, in-plant logistics, milk runs, customised industry solutions, and just-in-time and just-in-sequence capabilities. The presentation does not provide revenue, capacity, customer count, or growth rates separately for chemicals, e-commerce, or these individual service lines.
Allcargo Logistics also reports more than 99% service-quality adherence and a 98% customer-retention rate for Consultative Logistics. These measures appear alongside its plan to expand across diverse industry sectors and provide integrated warehouse-to-doorstep solutions. The presentation does not state the measurement period for either percentage or provide customer-retention figures for earlier periods.

What mechanisms support Allcargo Logistics warehouse optimisation?
Allcargo Logistics says warehouse management system, or WMS, driven automation is intended to improve inventory accuracy, throughput and productivity. It also describes flexible multi-user and built-to-suit warehousing in key consumption hubs as a way to address peak and festive demand. The presentation does not provide an automation-related cost saving, facility-level productivity measure, or warehouse utilisation percentage.
The group reports more than 700 facilities, more than 90 hubs and more than 80 logistics parks, along with more than 12 million square feet of distribution and warehousing space. The 7.4 million square feet reported as Consultative Logistics space under management is therefore a business-specific metric, while the more than 12 million square feet figure covers a broader distribution and warehousing footprint. Allcargo Logistics does not reconcile the two measures or disclose how much of the wider footprint supports Consultative Logistics.
Technology is another stated part of the operating plan. Allcargo Logistics lists a 24-hour control tower, WMS, Hub Eye, Gate Scan, route optimisation and an artificial intelligence-enabled booking app among its initiatives. It identifies efficient space utilisation, accurate mapping, improved pickup efficiency and real-time visibility as intended outcomes, but does not quantify spending, adoption levels, implementation timing or productivity gains from these systems.
How did Allcargo Logistics compare with Express and consolidated results?
Allcargo Logistics’ Consultative Logistics revenue grew faster than Express revenue in Q2FY27. Consultative Logistics revenue rose 5.7% year on year to Rs 169 crore, while Express revenue increased 2.5% to Rs 386 crore from Rs 377 crore. In H1FY27, however, Express revenue grew 7.7% to Rs 772 crore, above Consultative Logistics growth of 5.8% to Rs 330 crore.
At the consolidated level, revenue from operations was Rs 555 crore in Q2FY27, up 3.4% year on year and 1.6% from Rs 546 crore in Q1FY27. Gross profit, excluding other income, rose 13.0% year on year to Rs 174 crore, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, excluding other income, increased 24.2% to Rs 77 crore. The presentation attributes gross-margin improvement in Consultative Logistics to portfolio and warehouse optimisation, and Express improvement to the pass-through of fuel-price increases.
Consolidated operating expenditure was 68.6% of Q2FY27 sales, down from 71.3% in Q2FY26, while selling, general and administrative, or SG&A, costs were 17.5%, compared with 17.1% a year earlier. In H1FY27, operating expenditure was 69.4% of sales against 70.8%, while SG&A costs were 17.2% against 18.2%. Allcargo Logistics links the H1FY27 SG&A movement to continued cost-saving initiatives.
Conclusion
The Q2FY27 and H1FY27 figures indicate that Allcargo Logistics increased Consultative Logistics revenue while reducing the space it manages. Revenue reached Rs 169 crore in Q2FY27 and Rs 330 crore in H1FY27, against 7.4 million square feet of space in both reporting periods, while the presentation connects gross-margin improvement in the segment with customer and warehouse portfolio optimisation.
The next disclosed event is the management transition effective January 1, 2027, when Ketan Kulkarni is scheduled to become Chief Growth Officer of Allcargo Group and Vijay Nehra is scheduled to become Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Allcargo Logistics. Subsequent updates may show whether Consultative Logistics can maintain revenue growth with 7.4 million square feet of managed space and whether the company provides further data on utilisation, customer mix, automation outcomes or segment profitability.
