Why did Dreamfolks report a first-half consolidated loss?
Dreamfolks reported a Rs 24.568 crore consolidated loss after tax for the half year ended September 30, 2026, compared with a Rs 32.497 crore profit in the corresponding half of 2025. Total income fell to Rs 76.544 crore from Rs 561.145 crore, while total expenses declined to Rs 107.744 crore from Rs 517.626 crore.
The loss before tax was Rs 31.865 crore, compared with a Rs 43.519 crore pre-tax profit a year earlier. A deferred-tax credit of Rs 7.464 crore reduced the post-tax loss, while the Group's share of loss from its associate was Rs 0.665 crore during the six-month period.
The September 2026 quarter contributed a Rs 10.740 crore loss after tax, improving from a Rs 13.831 crore loss in the June 2026 quarter. In the September 2025 quarter, Dreamfolks had reported a Rs 11.227 crore profit after tax, while first-half basic earnings per share changed to a loss of Rs 4.54 from earnings of Rs 6.10.
What caused Dreamfolks revenue to decline about 87%?
Dreamfolks' revenue from operations declined about 87% year on year to Rs 70.078 crore in the half year ended September 30, 2026. The company said its discontinuation of domestic airport lounge services at certain key locations during the period ended September 30, 2025 had a material impact on revenue from corresponding prior periods.
Dreamfolks disclosed the domestic airport lounge service discontinuation to stock exchanges on September 16, 2025. It operates in one reportable segment, providing benefit-management services through a proprietary technology platform covering airport, golf, railway lounge and lifestyle offerings, and it did not disclose revenue by those individual categories.
September-quarter revenue from operations was Rs 31.066 crore, compared with Rs 39.011 crore in the June 2026 quarter and Rs 205.521 crore in the September 2025 quarter. The company specifically stated that the discontinued domestic airport lounge services make the current quarter and half-year revenue not comparable with corresponding previous periods.
Costs fell alongside revenue, although some expense lines increased. Cost of services declined to Rs 63.297 crore from Rs 478.721 crore, employee-benefit expense edged down to Rs 24.465 crore from Rs 25.397 crore, while depreciation and amortisation rose to Rs 3.660 crore from Rs 1.604 crore and other expenses increased to Rs 14.630 crore from Rs 11.446 crore.

Conclusion
The first-half figures show Dreamfolks moving from a Rs 32.497 crore consolidated profit to a Rs 24.568 crore loss as revenue from operations reduced to Rs 70.078 crore. The next disclosed developments are completion of the ETT Solutions DMCC primary subscription, which would increase Dreamfolks' holding from 34% to 60.24%, and progress in the National Company Law Tribunal matter. Travel Food Services Limited's petition alleges a default of approximately Rs 11.400 crore; Dreamfolks disputes the claim, says necessary provisions have been made, and disclosed a hearing scheduled for November 30, 2026.
