How did GAMCO’s FY26 balance sheet change?
GAMCO’s standalone total assets increased to Rs 437 crore in FY26 from Rs 189.41 crore in FY25, a rise of Rs 247.59 crore. The presentation characterises this as a roughly twofold balance-sheet expansion, alongside a debt-to-equity ratio of about 2.32 times during the period.
Standalone revenue also varied substantially across the four reported financial years. Revenue rose from Rs 78 crore in FY23 to Rs 212 crore in FY24, fell to Rs 51 crore in FY25, then reached Rs 279 crore in FY26. FY26 revenue was Rs 228 crore above FY25 and Rs 67 crore above FY24, showing that reported revenue changed sharply before and during the asset expansion.
The presentation records an FY26 profit-and-loss loss, attributing it to mark-to-market movements and growth investment, while management says comprehensive income remained positive through the market correction. It does not disclose the loss amount, comprehensive-income figure or segment earnings, so the contribution of individual new assets to recurring profit cannot be quantified.
Why is GAMCO moving beyond listed equities?
GAMCO has, since FY 2024-25, added asset-backed businesses that it describes as less correlated with equity markets. Incorporated in January 1983 as a non-deposit-taking non-banking financial company, or NBFC, GAMCO was built around listed-equity investing and trading, as well as structured financing, secured lending and fixed-return portfolios.
The earlier model included a proprietary stock-in-trade book, long-term strategic holdings and a concentrated, sector-agnostic, high-beta equity portfolio. GAMCO says returns from that portfolio were tightly linked to market cycles. The newer platform retains equity investing while adding real estate, industrial and logistics infrastructure, and hospitality as business verticals.
Management describes the intended structure as a multi-asset holding company rather than a single-market equity vehicle. Its nine stated investment priorities include an agile structure for investing or divesting businesses and terminal-value appraisal for capital redeployment. These are management principles rather than disclosed return targets for each operating segment.
What hard assets has GAMCO added?
GAMCO’s largest disclosed hard-asset transaction was its Rs 88 crore acquisition of a 96.26% stake in Uma Properties & Traders Limited in October 2025. The purchase added a 35-cottah Alipore, Kolkata land parcel intended for ultra-luxury residential development.
The presentation outlines 13.5 lakh square feet of proposed residential development in Kolkata. This comprises a 1 lakh-square-foot ultra-luxury boutique apartment tower with eight units and a 12.5 lakh-square-foot premium apartment complex with 500 units. GAMCO states that the ultra-luxury development is planned for completion within two years, while the premium project is planned over five years.
In logistics, GAMCO identifies Dankuni, West Bengal, for an industrial and logistics park. Its 2024 milestones cite a potential target of building 50 lakh square feet of warehousing infrastructure in West Bengal, although the presentation provides no construction date, project cost, occupancy level or revenue forecast. In hospitality, GAMCO acquired a 33.33% equity stake in the proposed 140-key Blissara Resorts project in the Andamans, where it says it is a landowner rather than an operator.

How did GAMCO monetise investments and simplify its structure?
GAMCO transferred its entire stake in Visco Advisory Pvt. Ltd. to a Global Institutional Fund for Rs 15.80 crore. The transaction was signed on 26 March 2026 and completed on 3 August 2026; GAMCO says it generated a 158-times return over three years and was its first large-scale divestment under the stated incubate-build-monetise approach.
The Rs 15.80 crore consideration provides a disclosed monetisation event alongside investment in longer-duration property and hospitality assets. However, GAMCO does not disclose the original investment cost, buyer identity, tax effects or accounting gain. The presentation therefore supports the sale and stated return multiple but not a full assessment of its effect on FY26 profit or net worth.
GAMCO also reports that Complify Trade Pvt. Ltd. was amalgamated into GAMCO effective 1 April 2026, describing the result as a simpler single-entity structure. Another presentation page refers to the same milestone as Complyify Trade Private Limited and places completion in FY 2026-27. No separate financial statements for the amalgamated entity are provided, leaving its specific effects on assets, liabilities and revenue undisclosed.
What is GAMCO planning after FY26?
GAMCO plans to grow its real estate, warehousing and hospitality platforms while using Rs 145 crore of FY26 trading inventory for the next equity up-cycle. Management says the inventory was built at post-correction prices, but the presentation does not give a timetable, target return or expected monetisation value for that inventory.
Management also lists factoring, lease financing, venture-capital funding and road-transport finance as possible financial-services expansions. It separately plans to deepen securities-backed lending through loans against shares, margin funding, initial public offering funding and promoter funding. These are stated directions rather than confirmation that the products have launched or that approvals have been obtained.
The stated timetable is clearer for selected hard assets. GAMCO records the Blissara Resorts investment as completed on 7 August 2026 and says the 140-key hospitality platform is under construction. Its Kolkata plan calls for ultra-luxury project completion within two years and premium development over five years, making construction and project monetisation the disclosed execution milestones.
Conclusion
GAMCO’s FY26 presentation shows a larger standalone platform and a broader allocation model: assets rose from Rs 189.41 crore to Rs 437 crore, while revenue moved from Rs 51 crore to Rs 279 crore. The Uma Properties acquisition, 50 lakh-square-foot warehousing ambition, Blissara Resorts stake and Visco Advisory sale combine hard-asset deployment with equity investing and financing activities.
The next disclosed items to watch are delivery of the Kolkata projects over two and five years, construction progress at Blissara Resorts, and movement toward the 50 lakh-square-foot warehousing target. GAMCO’s stated plan also depends on deploying or monetising Rs 145 crore of trading inventory and progressing the proposed expansion in lending and financing products.
