What did Juniper Hotels report for the September quarter?
Juniper Hotels reported profit after tax of Rs 37.17 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 16.81 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2025 and Rs 33.26 crore in the preceding June 2026 quarter. Profit before tax rose to Rs 49.40 crore from Rs 23.73 crore a year earlier, while basic and diluted earnings per share increased to Rs 1.67 from Rs 0.76.
Revenue from operations reached Rs 249.53 crore, compared with Rs 230.32 crore in the September 2025 quarter. Other income increased to Rs 8.57 crore from Rs 4.70 crore, taking total income to Rs 258.10 crore, versus Rs 235.02 crore. Total expenses were broadly unchanged at Rs 208.70 crore, compared with Rs 207.50 crore, leaving a wider pre-exceptional profit of Rs 49.40 crore against Rs 27.52 crore.
Why did Juniper Hotels' profit increase faster than revenue?
Juniper Hotels' profit increased faster than its revenue because finance costs fell by Rs 15.02 crore year on year and the September 2026 quarter did not include an exceptional charge. Finance costs were Rs 15.26 crore, down from Rs 30.28 crore in September 2025 and also below Rs 17.97 crore in the June 2026 quarter. That reduction accounted for much of the Rs 21.88 crore increase in profit before exceptional items and tax.
The comparison also benefited from the absence of a Rs 3.79 crore litigation-settlement exceptional expense recorded in the September 2025 quarter. Consequently, reported profit before tax was Rs 49.40 crore in September 2026, while the year-earlier figure was reduced from Rs 27.52 crore before exceptional items to Rs 23.73 crore after them. Deferred-tax expense rose to Rs 12.22 crore from Rs 6.92 crore, but the increase was smaller than the expansion in pre-tax profit.
Which costs changed during the September 2026 quarter?
Juniper Hotels' operating costs rose in several categories, but the saving in finance costs outweighed those increases in the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Food and beverage consumption was Rs 19.51 crore, compared with Rs 18.43 crore a year earlier. Employee-benefit expense rose to Rs 49.78 crore from Rs 47.40 crore, and other expenses increased to Rs 97.45 crore from Rs 81.88 crore.
Depreciation and amortisation declined to Rs 26.70 crore from Rs 29.53 crore in the September 2025 quarter. Total expenses nevertheless edged up to Rs 208.70 crore from Rs 207.50 crore because the Rs 15.57 crore increase in other expenses and the higher food and employee costs exceeded the reduction in depreciation. Compared with June 2026, total expenses rose from Rs 207.37 crore, whereas total income increased from Rs 252.20 crore.

Lower finance costs, down by Rs 15.02 crore, and no exceptional expense in the quarter were the principal reported drivers of the larger profit increase.
The next disclosures to watch are the development of the five-star Dwarka project through the special purpose vehicle acquired for Rs 1 lakh in June 2026, and finalisation of the Bangalore fire insurance claim.
