What drove LG Home Entertainment revenue growth in Q2 FY27?
LG Home Entertainment generated Rs 2,608 crore of revenue from operations in Q2 FY27, led by television, where value growth exceeded volume growth as consumers upgraded to larger screens. LG said its offline television market share reached an all-time high during the quarter, although the presentation did not disclose the market-share percentage, television unit sales or average selling prices.
The Q2 FY27 outcome was Rs 382 crore above the Rs 2,226 crore reported in Q2 FY26 and Rs 951 crore above the Rs 1,657 crore reported in Q1 FY27. LG described the 17.2% year-on-year increase as its third consecutive quarter of double-digit segment growth, while the disclosed quarterly revenue series shows a sharp increase from the three immediately preceding quarters.
Revenue in Q2 FY27 was also Rs 1,071 crore above Q4 FY26, when the segment reported Rs 1,537 crore. The presentation does not give revenue by television, audio visual, monitors, personal computers or Information Display, so the individual contribution of each product line to the quarterly increase cannot be calculated.
How did larger TVs and Information Display support LG Home Entertainment?
LG said larger-screen television upgrades meant value growth outpaced volume growth in Q2 FY27. The stated mechanism indicates that the 17.2% revenue increase reflected a shift toward higher-value television purchases as well as higher volumes, but LG did not provide a screen-size split or a price realisation figure.
LG also reported strong growth in its B2B Information Display business, which management identified as an additional growth engine. The Home Entertainment portfolio includes flat-panel televisions, signage, projectors, monitor TVs, audio visual products, monitors and personal computers, with Information Display linked in the presentation to institutional demand.
The two businesses had different drivers in LG’s account of the quarter. Television was supported by large-screen upgrades and record offline share, while Information Display added B2B growth and, according to management, improved profitability. LG did not disclose B2B revenue, its share of Q2 FY27 segment revenue or its year-on-year growth rate.
What happened to LG Home Entertainment profitability?
LG Home Entertainment reported a 12.9% EBIT margin in Q2 FY27, up 0.3 percentage points from 12.6% in Q2 FY26. EBIT value was Rs 337 crore, compared with Rs 281 crore a year earlier, and LG reported 19.9% year-on-year growth in the measure.
Management attributed the profit movement to operating leverage from higher volumes and improved B2B profitability, despite commodity inflation, foreign-exchange headwinds and go-to-market investment ahead of the festive season. Operating leverage describes revenue growth contributing to profit where some costs do not increase at the same rate, though LG did not disclose the segment’s detailed cost base.
The 12.9% Q2 FY27 margin was lower than the 19.0% recorded in Q1 FY27 and the 13.4% reported in Q4 FY26. That represents a 6.1-percentage-point sequential decline from Q1 FY27, even as revenue increased by Rs 951 crore, showing that higher sales did not prevent margin moderation during a quarter of festive channel investment and cost pressures.

What is LG Home Entertainment expecting in Q3 FY27?
LG expects the festive season to be the main television demand driver in Q3 FY27, with consumer preferences continuing to move toward larger screens and advanced display technologies. Management also expects institutional demand for Information Display to remain healthy, but it gave no numerical Q3 FY27 revenue, market-share or margin guidance.
LG said its record television market share, large-screen portfolio and QNED and OLED technologies support its positioning for the period. The addition of Mini LED televisions expands the product range to a wider customer base, according to management, while Q2 FY27 go-to-market spending was intended to prepare channels for festive sell-out.
Management expects the B2B business to sustain its improved profitability and to add resilience to Home Entertainment margins. The disclosed outlook therefore depends on festive television demand, consumer migration toward higher-value display technologies and the level of institutional Information Display orders, none of which was quantified in the release.
How does LG Home Entertainment compare with LG’s other segment?
LG Home Entertainment’s Rs 2,608 crore of Q2 FY27 revenue was lower than the Rs 4,772 crore reported by Home Appliances and Air Solution, or H&A. Home Entertainment grew 17.2% year on year, while H&A grew 20.9%, meaning the entertainment segment had the lower revenue growth rate in the same quarter.
The segment margin comparison was reversed. Home Entertainment reported a 12.9% EBIT margin in Q2 FY27, compared with 8.7% for H&A, a difference of 4.2 percentage points. H&A’s revenue increase was linked to washing machines, refrigerators and room air conditioners, while LG linked Home Entertainment growth to television upgrades and Information Display.
LG reported company-wide revenue from operations of Rs 7,380 crore in Q2 FY27, against Rs 6,174 crore in Q2 FY26, while profit after tax rose to Rs 489 crore from Rs 389 crore. The release does not reconcile Home Entertainment EBIT to company profit after tax, so the segment’s exact contribution to total profit cannot be derived from the disclosed figures.
Conclusion
LG Home Entertainment’s Q2 FY27 result combined 17.2% revenue growth with a 0.3-percentage-point year-on-year EBIT-margin increase. Larger-screen television upgrades supported value growth faster than volumes, while Information Display provided a second stated source of sales and profitability; however, the margin remained below both Q1 FY27 and Q4 FY26 levels.
The next disclosed test is Q3 FY27, when management expects festive demand to support televisions and institutional demand to remain healthy for Information Display. LG’s stated plans include using Q2 channel investments, the new Mini LED range, and its existing QNED and OLED lineup, while management expects B2B profitability to remain improved without providing a numerical target.
