What drove Vision Corporation's first-half loss?
Vision Corporation's Rs 58.56 lakh first-half loss resulted from expenses because it reported neither revenue from operations nor other income between April 1 and September 30, 2026. Employee-benefit expense was Rs 4.04 lakh, depreciation and amortisation was Rs 12.86 lakh, and other expenses were Rs 41.66 lakh. With no exceptional items or tax expense, its pre-tax and post-tax losses were both Rs 58.56 lakh.
The September 2026 quarter accounted for Rs 49.83 lakh of the first-half loss, while the June 2026 quarter recorded a Rs 8.73 lakh loss. September-quarter expenses comprised Rs 1.72 lakh of employee costs, Rs 6.45 lakh of depreciation and Rs 41.66 lakh of other expenses. June-quarter expenses included Rs 2.32 lakh of employee costs and Rs 6.41 lakh of depreciation.
Vision Corporation's September-quarter loss increased by Rs 32.34 lakh from Rs 17.49 lakh in the quarter ended September 30, 2025. Expenses in the prior-year quarter included Rs 3.30 lakh of employee benefits, Rs 9.06 lakh of depreciation and Rs 5.14 lakh of other expenses. The company also reported no revenue from operations in that prior-year September quarter.
Did Vision Corporation report any operating revenue?
Vision Corporation reported zero revenue from operations in the September 2026 quarter, June 2026 quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. It also reported no other income in all three periods, leaving total revenue at zero. The entire Rs 58.56 lakh first-half expense base was therefore not offset by reported operating or non-operating income.
The six-month result contrasts with the year ended March 31, 2026, when Vision Corporation reported Rs 25.59 lakh in revenue from operations and Rs 39,000 of other income. Total revenue for that full year was Rs 25.98 lakh, against total expenses of Rs 93.42 lakh and a post-tax loss of Rs 67.44 lakh. The interim filing does not set out a revenue-resumption plan, product update or segment explanation for the zero revenue.
Loss per share followed the reported loss. Basic and diluted loss per share for the half year were each Rs 0.2932, while basic and diluted loss per share for the September 2026 quarter were each Rs 0.2495. The September-quarter figure was Rs 0.0876 in the corresponding 2025 quarter, and paid-up equity share capital remained Rs 19.9701 crore.

How did Vision Corporation's balance sheet change?
Vision Corporation's total assets increased to Rs 15.3892 crore on September 30, 2026, from Rs 14.088 crore on March 31, 2026, while total equity declined to Rs 7.0172 crore from Rs 7.6028 crore. The Rs 58.56 lakh equity reduction matched the first-half loss, as other equity moved to negative Rs 12.9529 crore from negative Rs 12.3673 crore. Share capital was unchanged at Rs 19.9701 crore.
Current assets rose to Rs 12.5155 crore from Rs 11.6193 crore. Inventory was unchanged at Rs 7.1875 crore and trade receivables were unchanged at Rs 2.6244 crore, while other current assets increased to Rs 2.6733 crore from Rs 1.7951 crore. Non-current assets rose to Rs 2.8736 crore from Rs 2.4687 crore, including other non-current assets of Rs 1.3938 crore against Rs 86.03 lakh at March 31.
Current liabilities increased to Rs 8.372 crore from Rs 6.4852 crore. Trade payables rose to Rs 4.7571 crore from Rs 4.3204 crore, and current borrowings increased to Rs 1.8101 crore from Rs 1.7921 crore. Other current liabilities rose to Rs 1.6635 crore from Rs 37.27 lakh, while provisions were Rs 14.12 lakh at September 30, compared with nil at March 31. The balance sheet listed no non-current borrowings at either date.
Why was Vision Corporation's operating cash flow positive?
Vision Corporation generated Rs 53.35 lakh of net cash from operating activities in the half year despite a Rs 58.56 lakh pre-tax loss because working-capital movements exceeded the operating loss before those movements. After adding Rs 12.86 lakh of depreciation, the operating loss before working-capital changes was Rs 45.70 lakh. Cash generated from operations was Rs 53.35 lakh, with no direct tax payment reported.
The principal working-capital cash inflows were a Rs 43.67 lakh increase in trade payables and a Rs 1.432 crore increase in other current liabilities and provisions. These were partly offset by a Rs 87.82 lakh increase in short-term loans, advances and other current assets. Trade receivables had no cash-flow movement during the half year, consistent with their Rs 2.6244 crore balance at both September 30 and March 31.
Operating cash generation was offset by Rs 53.35 lakh used in investing activities, recorded as non-current assets, while financing activities added Rs 1.80 lakh through short-term borrowings. The cash-flow statement consequently showed a Rs 1.80 lakh net increase in cash and cash equivalents. Its closing total was Rs 3.03 lakh, comprising Rs 1.23 lakh of cash and cash equivalents and Rs 1.80 lakh of other bank balances in the September 30 balance sheet.
Conclusion
Vision Corporation's first-half filing shows no reported operating revenue over six months and a Rs 58.56 lakh loss arising from employee costs, depreciation and other expenses. Equity declined by the same amount to Rs 7.0172 crore, while current liabilities increased, particularly trade payables and other current liabilities. The Rs 53.35 lakh positive operating cash flow reflected working-capital movements rather than reported income.
The unresolved matter for subsequent disclosures is whether Vision Corporation resumes revenue from operations and whether the movements in current assets and current liabilities reverse or persist. The November 5, 2026 filing does not disclose a revenue target or operating plan, leaving future results as the next reported measure of any change in operating activity.
