How did Kody Technolab fund its investing cash outflow?
Kody Technolab funded its Rs 37.86 crore net investing outflow through Rs 25.94 crore of net financing inflow and opening cash of Rs 42.58 crore. The company reported a Rs 16.07 crore purchase of property, plant and equipment, Rs 22.37 crore of payments for long-term loans and advances, and Rs 98.81 lakh classified as other current assets for capital expenditure during the half year ended September 30, 2026.
The investment cash requirement was substantially higher than the Rs 4.56 crore net investing outflow reported in the half year ended September 30, 2025. Interest income of Rs 1.59 crore partly offset current-period spending, while the standalone balance sheet recorded non-current investments of Rs 37.86 crore at September 30, 2026, unchanged from March 31, 2026.
Kody Technolab’s standalone tangible fixed assets increased to Rs 20.33 crore on September 30, 2026 from Rs 13.64 crore on March 31, 2026, while intangible assets under development rose to Rs 23.20 crore from Rs 16.07 crore. Long-term loans and advances, including fixed deposits against short-term borrowings, increased to Rs 51.64 crore from Rs 20.27 crore.
Why was Kody Technolab’s operating cash generation limited in H1 FY27?
Kody Technolab generated Rs 51.20 lakh of net operating cash in the half year ended September 30, 2026 because working-capital movements and tax payments absorbed much of its Rs 18.05 crore profit before tax. Trade receivables increased by Rs 25.40 crore, trade payables declined by Rs 5.89 crore, other current liabilities declined by Rs 5.19 crore, and tax payments were Rs 4.58 crore.
Those cash demands were partly offset by a Rs 16.97 crore reduction in other current assets, a Rs 5.06 crore increase in short-term provisions and a Rs 29.91 lakh fall in inventories. After depreciation and amortisation of Rs 2.05 crore, finance cost of Rs 67.86 lakh and interest income of Rs 1.59 crore, Kody Technolab reported cash generated from operations of Rs 5.09 crore before tax.
The receivables movement remained a major cash use, although it was below the Rs 27.30 crore increase recorded in the half year ended September 30, 2025. Net operating cash flow fell from Rs 2.26 crore a year earlier to Rs 51.20 lakh, while the prior-period cash-flow statement also reported a Rs 9.53 crore movement in long-term loans and advances within operating cash flows; the current statement classifies payments for that category in investing activities.
On the standalone balance sheet, trade receivables stood at Rs 65.15 crore on September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 39.75 crore on March 31, 2026. Revenue from operations for the half year was Rs 65.41 crore, while other current assets declined to Rs 20.90 crore from Rs 36.87 crore.

What financing sources did Kody Technolab use in H1 FY27?
Kody Technolab’s Rs 25.94 crore financing inflow came primarily from Rs 17.88 crore of net short-term borrowings and Rs 12 crore of proceeds from share capital and securities premium. The company also reported a Rs 3 crore reduction in share-warrant application balances, a Rs 26.16 lakh repayment of long-term borrowings and Rs 67.86 lakh of finance-cost payments.
Short-term borrowings on the standalone balance sheet reached Rs 18.76 crore on September 30, 2026, up from Rs 88.10 lakh at March 31, 2026. In contrast, long-term borrowings declined to Rs 6.60 crore from Rs 6.86 crore, indicating that the reported increase in financing was concentrated in short-term borrowing rather than long-term debt.
On August 7, 2026, Kody Technolab allotted 123,100 fully paid equity shares at an issue price of Rs 975 each to a non-promoter holder following conversion of an equal number of convertible warrants. The company said it received Rs 9 crore, representing the balance 75% of the warrant exercise price, and that the conversion involved 123,100 warrants from a total issue of 676,900 convertible warrants.
The issuance increased standalone share capital by Rs 12.31 lakh to Rs 14.42 crore at September 30, while reserves and surplus rose to Rs 200.09 crore from Rs 174.77 crore at March 31. Share-warrant application fell by Rs 3 crore to Rs 13.50 crore, consistent with the cash-flow statement, although the filing does not provide a conversion timetable for the warrants not converted on August 7.
Conclusion
Kody Technolab’s H1 FY27 cash flow shows that Rs 37.86 crore of investment activity exceeded the Rs 25.94 crore raised through financing, while operating activity supplied Rs 51.20 lakh after working-capital movements and tax. The September 30 cash balance consequently fell to Rs 31.17 crore from Rs 42.58 crore at the beginning of the half year, despite higher short-term borrowing and warrant-conversion proceeds.
The next disclosed unresolved matter is the 553,800 convertible warrants remaining from the original 676,900-warrant issue after 123,100 were converted on August 7, 2026. Investors can also track whether trade receivables, which rose to Rs 65.15 crore at September 30, and long-term loans and advances, which reached Rs 51.64 crore, change in the next financial results.
