How fast did MapmyIndia automotive revenue grow?
MapmyIndia’s automotive revenue increased to Rs 130.1 crore in H1 FY27 from Rs 92.6 crore in H1 FY26, a 40.4% year-on-year (YoY) increase. The rise followed a broadly flat comparison between H1 FY25, when automotive contributed Rs 92.8 crore, and H1 FY26, when it contributed Rs 92.6 crore. Automotive therefore added Rs 37.5 crore in revenue in the latest half compared with the preceding-year period.
The Q2 result showed faster growth than the half-year outcome. Automotive revenue reached Rs 71.3 crore in Q2 FY27, versus Rs 46.9 crore in Q2 FY26, a 51.9% YoY increase; it was also above Rs 67.1 crore in Q2 FY25. In Q1 FY27, automotive revenue was Rs 58.8 crore, compared with Rs 45.7 crore in Q1 FY26, showing that both quarters contributed to H1 growth.
Why did automotive become MapmyIndia’s largest revenue market?
Automotive became MapmyIndia’s largest reported market in H1 FY27 because its share of revenue from operations rose to 48% from 39% in H1 FY26. Enterprise accounted for 36%, or Rs 97.2 crore, while government accounted for 16%, or Rs 44.1 crore. Automotive was consequently ahead of enterprise by Rs 32.9 crore in H1 FY27, whereas the gap had been Rs 9.1 crore in the prior-year half.
MapmyIndia reported that growth in automotive and enterprise was partly offset by lower government revenue. Total revenue from operations grew 15.3% to Rs 271.5 crore in H1 FY27, so automotive’s 40.4% increase materially outpaced the company total. Management said the higher contribution from automotive and enterprise resulted in better earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) and profit after tax (PAT) margins; H1 EBITDA margin was 37.2%, compared with 35.7% a year earlier.
The market mix also changed relative to H1 FY25. Automotive represented 45% of Rs 205.2 crore revenue from operations in H1 FY25, moved down to 39% in H1 FY26, and then rose to 48% in H1 FY27. Government’s mix moved in the opposite direction, from 17% in H1 FY25 to 25% in H1 FY26 and 16% in H1 FY27, alongside its revenue decline from Rs 59.3 crore to Rs 44.1 crore in the latest comparison.

Which vehicle segments did MapmyIndia deploy in during FY27?
MapmyIndia reported go-lives across four-wheelers, two-wheelers and IoT telematics during Q2 FY27, while also entering commercial-vehicle navigation. In four-wheelers, Mahindra BE6 Sporte, Brezza and Force Motors Urbania went live with MapmyIndia’s solution suite. These deployments were cited alongside the 51.9% Q2 automotive revenue increase to Rs 71.3 crore.
In two-wheelers, MapmyIndia rolled out its technology stack on Bajaj Pulsar 125, Samarth Mobility Avore and Ampere Magnus GMax. The company said its product strategy prioritised artificial-intelligence-powered cockpit systems, in-vehicle intelligence and software-defined vehicle (SDV) platforms for internal-combustion-engine and electric vehicles. The stated coverage spans two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars and commercial vehicles rather than a single vehicle category.
For IoT, MapmyIndia expanded telematics and video-telematics deployments with VinFast and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), across line-fit and aftermarket implementations. Line-fit refers to equipment installed as part of vehicle production, while aftermarket implementations are deployed after sale. MapmyIndia also disclosed a contract renewal from a leading two-wheeler OEM, but did not identify that customer or give a contract value.
What new automotive opportunities is MapmyIndia pursuing?
MapmyIndia entered the commercial-vehicle market with a navigation solution localised for Indian truck and bus drivers. This commercial-vehicle entry sits alongside its stated automotive strategy for cockpits, in-vehicle intelligence and SDV platforms. The presentation does not disclose commercial-vehicle revenue, customer names, contract values or a timetable for additional truck and bus navigation deployments.
At the company level, Map-led revenue increased 8.9% to Rs 175.3 crore in H1 FY27, while IoT-led revenue increased 29.1% to Rs 96.2 crore. Map-led EBITDA was Rs 82.6 crore and its margin was 47.1%, nearly unchanged from 47.3% in H1 FY26. IoT-led EBITDA rose to Rs 18.5 crore from Rs 7.9 crore, with margin increasing to 19.2% from 10.6%.
The IoT-led revenue composition changed in H1 FY27: hardware sales were Rs 56.1 crore, compared with Rs 20.5 crore in H1 FY26, while map-data and services revenue was Rs 40.0 crore, compared with Rs 54.0 crore. MapmyIndia attributed higher hardware revenue primarily to a capital-expenditure-based sale under a line-fit programme with a new OEM entrant. It attributed the lower IoT services revenue to a large government IoT project moving from upfront technical-services revenue to a recurring subscription model.
Conclusion
MapmyIndia’s H1 FY27 results show that automotive shifted from 39% to 48% of revenue from operations in one year, becoming the company’s largest market as revenue reached Rs 130.1 crore. The gain was driven by activity across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and telematics, while enterprise grew more slowly and government revenue declined.
The next point to watch is execution of MapmyIndia’s disclosed plan to embed artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural networks across mapping, navigation, in-vehicle intelligence, telematics and analytics. Investors can also monitor whether the commercial-vehicle navigation entry, new OEM line-fit programme and named vehicle go-lives produce continued automotive growth beyond the 51.9% Q2 FY27 increase.
