What is Nykaa’s House of Nykaa GMV run rate?
Nykaa’s House of Nykaa had an annualised general merchandise value, or GMV, run rate of Rs 4,000 crore as of the quarter, while annualised net sales value, or NSV, was Rs 2,300 crore. Management said annualised NSV increased 36% year on year across a portfolio of eight beauty brands and five fashion brands.
Nykaa said its House of Nykaa brands had served 19 million consumers to date. Management said it was building brands rather than private labels through Nykaa’s platforms and stores, general trade, modern trade, direct-to-consumer websites, third-party marketplaces and international presence.
How quickly has Nykaa’s brand portfolio grown?
Nykaa said House of Nykaa’s NSV increased to Rs 535 crore in the past quarter from Rs 150 crore in a quarter in 2024. Management described that change as 3x growth and separately reported 39% year-on-year NSV growth for the past quarter, compared with 36% growth for annualised NSV.
The three largest brands cited by Nykaa illustrate the portfolio’s current scale. Dot & Key had annualised NSV of Rs 1,300 crore, Kay Beauty had an annualised run rate of Rs 350 crore, and Nykaa Cosmetics was described as a Rs 300 crore brand.
Dot & Key launched tinted sunscreen and Dragon Fruit Jelly Bounce Moisturizer during the quarter. Nykaa said Kay Beauty was deepening its efforts in the United Kingdom, while Nykaa Cosmetics focused on accessible and timely beauty products for Indian consumers.
What is Nykaa paying for Simply Nam?
Nykaa agreed to acquire an 82% stake in Simply Nam for Rs 33 crore. Namrata Soni will retain 18% and continue as Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer under the transaction structure presented on the call.
Nykaa said the transaction was expected to close in quarter 3, subject to regulatory approvals. Management said Simply Nam had Rs 17 crore of net revenue in FY ’26 and had grown 5x over the preceding four years.
Simply Nam was founded by celebrity makeup artist Namrata Soni and is positioned by Nykaa as an expert-backed beauty brand. Management said the partnership would combine Nykaa’s reach and scale with Soni’s work on innovation, formulations and education.

Where does Simply Nam fit in Nykaa’s makeup range?
Simply Nam is intended to operate in Nykaa’s highest disclosed makeup price range of Rs 1,250 to Rs 2,000. Nykaa Cosmetics is positioned at about Rs 300 to Rs 750, while Kay Beauty sits at about Rs 750 to Rs 1,200.
Nykaa said Nykaa Cosmetics offers trendy makeup for younger consumers, while Kay Beauty uses Katrina Kaif’s beauty expertise for high-performance, skincare-infused makeup. Management said Simply Nam would focus on makeup artistry, Namrata Soni’s philosophy of enhancing natural beauty and a more premium customer proposition.
The resulting disclosed makeup price ladder ranges from about Rs 300 to Rs 2,000. Management said its portfolio work over the past three to four quarters had combined internally developed brands, including Kay Beauty and Nykaa Cosmetics, with acquisitions including Dot & Key, Earth Rhythm, Aminu and Simply Nam.
How will Nykaa distribute its owned-brand portfolio?
Nykaa said House of Nykaa brands are being developed through its online and offline channels, general trade, modern trade, direct-to-consumer sites, third-party marketplaces and international presence. That model gives the company channels beyond its own platform for brands such as the 13 brands in the House of Nykaa portfolio.
Nykaa had 338 stores, including 253 multi-brand stores, 69 House of Nykaa kiosks or small-format stores and 16 brand boutiques. The company added 14 stores during the quarter, while like-for-like store sales growth exceeded 20%.
Retail average order value was 40% higher than several years earlier, according to Nykaa. The company also said its Nykaa Global Store had more than 45 third-party global brand partners growing at more than 60% year on year, though management did not identify that program as a distribution commitment for Simply Nam.
Why is Nykaa adding a premium expert-led makeup brand?
Nykaa said its portfolio strategy was to add mass-premium, specialised, differentiated and expert-led brands. Simply Nam’s Rs 1,250 to Rs 2,000 range sits above Kay Beauty’s approximately Rs 750 to Rs 1,200 range, creating a separate premium makeup tier.
Simply Nam’s Rs 17 crore FY ’26 net revenue was small relative to House of Nykaa’s Rs 2,300 crore annualised NSV at the time of the announcement. Management’s stated rationale for the acquisition was to use Nykaa’s reach and capabilities alongside Namrata Soni’s product, formulation and education expertise, rather than a disclosed financial target for Simply Nam.
Conclusion
Nykaa’s disclosures show a brand portfolio spanning beauty and fashion, with three makeup price bands from approximately Rs 300 to Rs 2,000 and annualised NSV of Rs 2,300 crore. The proposed Simply Nam acquisition extends that structure into premium, makeup-artistry-led products while retaining Namrata Soni as an 18% shareholder and Chief Product Officer.
The next disclosed milestone is the expected quarter 3 closing of the transaction, subject to regulatory approvals. Nykaa has also said the partnership will pair its reach and scale with Soni’s focus on innovation, formulations and education, which are the operating elements management identified for the brand after closing.
