Total income was Rs 22.75 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2026, compared with Rs 36.86 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Sequentially, revenue from operations fell from Rs 20.17 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2026 to Rs 19.57 crore in the September quarter. However, profit after tax increased from Rs 0.39 crore in June to Rs 1.41 crore in September. The June-quarter statement showed no other income, while the September-quarter result included Rs 3.175 crore.
Why did other income affect StarlinePS profit?
Other income affected the result because StarlinePS recorded Rs 3.175 crore of it against profit before tax of Rs 1.94 crore in the September quarter. Revenue from operations of Rs 19.57 crore was lower than total expenses of Rs 20.81 crore by Rs 1.24 crore, meaning the other-income line took total income above the expense base.
The quarterly statement does not give a line-by-line break-up of other income. However, the half-year cash-flow statement records Rs 3.1475 crore of interest income and Rs 0.0275 crore of gain on sale of investments for the half year ended 30 September 2026. These two amounts together equal the Rs 3.175 crore of other income reported for the half year.
For the half year ended 30 September 2026, StarlinePS reported other income of Rs 3.175 crore and standalone profit after tax of Rs 1.80 crore. Revenue from operations also declined to Rs 39.74 crore from Rs 49.43 crore across those respective six-month periods.

StarlinePS reported total expenses of Rs 20.81 crore for the September 2026 quarter, down from Rs 34.85 crore a year earlier. The Rs 14.04 crore reduction in expenses was smaller than the Rs 17.29 crore reduction in revenue, which reduced profit before tax to Rs 1.94 crore from Rs 2.01 crore.
Purchase of stock in trade declined to Rs 4.12 crore from Rs 32.39 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2025. In contrast, changes in inventories were an expense of Rs 13.80 crore, compared with Rs 1.86 crore a year earlier. Other expenses increased to Rs 0.78 crore from Rs 0.36 crore, while direct expenses were Rs 1.81 crore and finance costs were Rs 0.20 crore.
The expense mix also changed from the immediately preceding quarter. StarlinePS reported a Rs 4.80 crore reduction in inventories in the June 2026 quarter, recorded as a negative expense, before recording a Rs 13.80 crore inventory-related expense in September. Total expenses consequently increased from Rs 19.65 crore in June to Rs 20.81 crore in September, even as quarterly revenue declined by Rs 0.60 crore.
