Sudeep Pharma said magnesium bisglycinate could exceed Rs 100 crore of PFN revenue within two to three years, backed by 30 to 35 customer approvals and expected realizations two to three times the current PFN average. Management expects broader supplies from Nandesari beginning in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q4 FY27).

Why does Sudeep expect magnesium bisglycinate to exceed Rs 100 crore?
Sudeep expects magnesium bisglycinate alone to become a top-three revenue contributor in its PFN segment within two to three years, which management said would mean revenue above Rs 100 crore. This is a management target based on demand, approvals and planned capacity allocation, rather than reported product revenue.
The target follows a shift from constrained supplies at existing plants to production at the Nandesari greenfield facility. Sudeep said commercial supplies have started for select customers, but the product’s present PFN contribution remains insignificant because available volume is limited. Management expects larger supplies from Q4 FY27 and said the category could contribute about 10% to 20% of PFN revenue from that period and the following first quarter.
How much Nandesari capacity will Sudeep allocate to bisglycinate?
Sudeep expects 70% to 80% of the 40% of Nandesari capacity designated for bisglycinate, gluconate and citrate products to be used for bisglycinate. The allocation reflects the approvals and demand management is seeing for magnesium bisglycinate, while the other 60% of capacity is largely planned for phosphates.
The 60% planned for other products cannot currently be redirected to bisglycinate, citrate or gluconate without additional capital expenditure. Sudeep said about 50% of the processing is common, but some further investment would be needed to convert that capacity. The initial ramp-up of magnesium bisglycinate therefore depends mainly on the capacity already assigned to the three-product portfolio.
How many magnesium bisglycinate customer approvals does Sudeep have?
Sudeep has about 30 to 35 magnesium bisglycinate approvals across India, Europe and the United States, including about eight or nine approvals in the United States. Management also said it has approvals from two of the largest United States contract manufacturing customers.
Management expects some large customers to take substantial volume but does not intend to run a concentrated customer book. Sudeep indicated that about 50% of magnesium bisglycinate volume could go to larger customers globally and in India, with the other 50% distributed among mid-sized and smaller companies. It cited diversification as the reason for this proposed mix.
The approvals are relevant to the timing of Nandesari’s ramp. Management said PFN customers typically require six to 12 months to approve a facility, although some Nandesari approvals are already in place. Sudeep therefore expects the site to make a revenue contribution largely in Q4 FY27, instead of assuming immediate full utilisation after approval.

When will Nandesari increase Sudeep’s bisglycinate supply?
Sudeep expects Nandesari to begin contributing revenue largely in Q4 FY27, after the site received the regulatory approval cited by management in the week before the earnings call. Management said the new site made no contribution in the reported second quarter of FY27 because the approval had arrived only recently.
For fiscal year 2028 (FY28), Sudeep is targeting 15% to 20% utilisation for PFN capacity at the greenfield site. Management said PFN facilities normally require three to four years to reach significant scale and estimated optimum utilisation at about 75%. At that utilisation, management said the facility could achieve close to three times asset turnover.
Existing capacity has already supported PFN growth while the Nandesari site awaited approval. Management said PFN revenue grew 57% year on year in Q2 FY27, with volume growth of about 30% to 35% during the quarter and about 19% in the first half. It said phosphates and magnesium bisglycinate were the two categories receiving the maximum feasible allocation from fungible capacity.
What could higher bisglycinate realization mean for PFN?
Sudeep said magnesium bisglycinate typically earns realizations two to three times higher than the current average PFN realization. Management did not provide a precise forecast for the blended PFN realization because it will depend on final capacity allocation and the pace at which customer volumes are supplied.
Nandesari should operate at a higher realization than Sudeep’s existing site, according to management, because the planned mix includes bisglycinate and phosphates. The phosphate capacity is also expected to earn more than the company’s carbonates and oxides categories. This mix change, rather than a disclosed product-level margin, is the mechanism management identified for a higher site-level realization.
The company’s consolidated financial results show the backdrop for the PFN expansion but do not isolate bisglycinate earnings. Revenue from operations increased 21% year on year to Rs 196.7 crore in Q2 FY27, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation increased 32% to Rs 73.2 crore. The consolidated margin was 37.2%, compared with 34.1% in Q2 FY26, but Sudeep did not quantify magnesium bisglycinate’s specific contribution to that change.
Conclusion
Sudeep’s Rs 100 crore-plus magnesium bisglycinate objective is a product-mix plan within PFN, built on using most of the capacity assigned to bisglycinate, gluconate and citrate products for magnesium bisglycinate. The strategy combines higher stated realizations, 30 to 35 approvals and a customer mix designed to split volume roughly equally between larger and smaller accounts.
The next disclosed milestone is Q4 FY27, when management expects Nandesari to start contributing revenue after its recent approval. Investors can watch whether the category reaches the indicated 10% to 20% PFN revenue contribution, whether FY28 utilisation approaches the 15% to 20% target, and how quickly the site advances toward the 75% optimum-utilisation estimate.
