Utkarsh’s other retail disbursements rose 49% year on year to Rs 1,108 crore in Q2 FY27, from Rs 742 crore in Q2 FY26. They also increased from Rs 951 crore in Q1 FY27, although they remained below the Rs 1,136 crore disbursed in Q4 FY26. The reported category excludes micro-banking and wholesale lending.
The category includes micro, small and medium enterprise, or MSME, lending; housing loans; construction-equipment, or CE, and commercial-vehicle, or CV, loans; business-correspondent channel lending; personal loans; gold loans; overdrafts against fixed deposits; and other products. The disclosed quarterly sequence shows disbursements rising from Rs 742 crore in Q2 FY26 to Rs 855 crore in Q3 FY26 and Rs 1,136 crore in Q4 FY26, before moving to Rs 951 crore and Rs 1,108 crore in the first two quarters of FY27.

The MSME offering includes secured business loans, loan against property, unsecured business loans, and micro loan-against-property or overdraft products. Utkarsh says about 95% of the MSME book is secured and that the business has more than 15,000 customers, with an average loan-book ticket size of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. Quarterly MSME disbursements reached Rs 479 crore in Q4 FY26 before declining to Rs 343 crore in Q1 FY27 and recovering to Rs 378 crore in Q2 FY27.

Its portfolio had risen to Rs 1,005 crore in Jun-26 before declining by Rs 21 crore to Rs 984 crore at Sep-26.
Utkarsh’s CE and CV portfolio followed a different pattern, declining to Rs 988 crore at Sep-26 from Rs 1,144 crore at Sep-25. Yet Q2 FY27 disbursements increased to Rs 96 crore from Rs 60 crore a year earlier and Rs 70 crore in Q1 FY27. New CV loans made up 70% of the portfolio, while new CE loans and used CE and CV loans each accounted for 15%.
The CE and CV business primarily lends to small fleet operators and had about 4,400 customers. Its average loan-book ticket size was Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, while average disbursement yield declined to 12.1% in Q2 FY27 from 13.0% in Q2 FY26. Where is Utkarsh’s other retail portfolio located?
Utkarsh reported other retail-lending presence across 27 states and union territories at Sep-26, with Uttar Pradesh representing the largest disclosed portfolio share at 20%. Maharashtra accounted for 19%, the National Capital Territory of Delhi for 14%, Bihar for 9%, Telangana for 8%, and Haryana for 7%. Together, these six disclosed markets represented 77% of the stated portfolio mix.
Utkarsh also reported 3% shares each for Jharkhand, West Bengal and Rajasthan, while other states accounted for 15%. The presentation gives this geographic composition for the Rs 9,216 crore other retail portfolio but does not disclose state-level disbursements, yields or asset-quality measures. The figures therefore show where outstanding balances were located at Sep-26 rather than performance by state.
How much distribution capacity does Utkarsh report for these products?
Utkarsh says it has significant headroom to expand within existing branches, with MSME products offered through 87 branches, housing loans from 62 locations, and CE and CV loans through 49 branches. The MSME business has significant presence in Utkarsh’s core geography, while the housing and vehicle-finance operations are described as operating primarily there. The presentation does not state the total number of branches that could ultimately distribute each product.
The separate distribution footprints sit alongside different portfolio sizes at Sep-26: MSME stood at Rs 4,489 crore, CE and CV at Rs 988 crore, and housing at Rs 984 crore. These three disclosed portfolios total Rs 6,461 crore, below the Rs 9,216 crore other retail portfolio because the category also includes products such as personal loans, gold loans, business-correspondent channel lending and overdrafts against fixed deposits. The stated branch counts therefore describe only the three separately detailed lending lines.
Conclusion
Utkarsh’s Q2 FY27 data show that other retail lending expanded through a broad product set, with Rs 1,108 crore of disbursements and a Rs 9,216 crore portfolio at Sep-26. MSME was the largest specifically disclosed line at Rs 4,489 crore and was about 95% secured, while CE and CV disbursements rose year on year despite a lower outstanding portfolio.
The next disclosed item to watch is whether Utkarsh converts its stated headroom within existing branches into a wider product footprint beyond the 87 MSME branches, 62 housing locations and 49 CE and CV branches currently reported. The subsequent movement in quarterly disbursements, yields and portfolio balances will also clarify whether housing disbursements recover from Rs 64 crore in Q2 FY27 and whether CE and CV portfolio balances stabilise after reaching Rs 988 crore at Sep-26.
