Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited provides a wide suite of financial products including microfinance, MSME loans, housing loans, personal and commercial vehicle loans. With its head office in Varanasi, the bank operates extensively across India with a strong presence in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

In a strategic pivot, the bank is focusing on reducing its JLG portfolio while increasing its secured lending such as MSME and housing loans, which have shown significant growth rates. This move is part of its broader strategy to diversify its loan book and improve asset quality.

The bank has launched the Utkarsh 2.0 Technology Transformation Project, aiming to enhance operational efficiency through digital underwriting and improved risk management. This project includes several sub-projects that have already been live and generating benefits for the bank.

Despite a 2.3% year-on-year contraction in its overall gross loan portfolio, the bank reported a reduction in fresh NPA slippages in the first half of FY '26, suggesting that recent corrective measures are taking effect.

The bank raised Rs. 950 crore through a rights issue in November 2025 to augment its Tier-1 capital, reflecting a commitment to long-term growth and stability amidst ongoing regulatory and market challenges.
