What happened to Yug Decor's segment profits in the September 2026 half year?
Yug Decor's combined segment result before tax and interest fell to Rs 51.46 lakh in the six months ended 30 September 2026 from Rs 96.02 lakh in the corresponding six months ended 30 September 2025. The fall reflected a Rs 1.03 crore reduction in the Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives result, which more than offset the Rs 58.51 lakh improvement in Plywood Boards.
Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives reported Rs 10.63 lakh of segment profit in the September 2026 half year, compared with Rs 87.25 lakh in the six months ended 31 March 2026 and Rs 1.14 crore a year earlier. Plywood Boards reported Rs 40.83 lakh, below its Rs 45.76 lakh result in the March 2026 half year but above the Rs 17.68 lakh loss reported in the September 2025 half year.
The two segments therefore moved in different directions over the year. Plywood Boards changed from a loss to a profit, while the larger Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives segment recorded lower profit despite higher sales. The filing defines the segment result measure as profit or loss before tax and interest and does not give a segment-level explanation for the decline in the adhesives result.
How did Yug Decor's segment revenue change?
Yug Decor's revenue from operations rose to Rs 21.38 crore in the six months ended 30 September 2026 from Rs 19.50 crore in the corresponding prior-year half. Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives generated Rs 13.15 crore, compared with Rs 12.36 crore, while Plywood Boards generated Rs 8.24 crore, compared with Rs 7.15 crore.
Plywood Boards added Rs 1.09 crore of revenue year on year, exceeding the Rs 79.07 lakh increase in Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives revenue. Even so, Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives remained the larger contributor, accounting for Rs 13.15 crore of the Rs 21.38 crore in operating revenue during the September 2026 half year.
The segment report shows no inter-segment revenue for any of the reported periods. As a result, gross segment revenue of Rs 21.38 crore was equal to gross sales from operations in the six months ended 30 September 2026, compared with Rs 19.50 crore in the corresponding six months ended 30 September 2025.
Why did Yug Decor report a loss despite positive segment results?
Yug Decor recorded a Rs 36.80 lakh loss before tax for the six months ended 30 September 2026, although its combined segment result before tax and interest was Rs 51.46 lakh. Interest expense of Rs 51.15 lakh and net unallocable expenditure of Rs 37.11 lakh reduced the segment result by Rs 88.26 lakh.
At the company level, total revenue was Rs 21.48 crore in the September 2026 half year, including Rs 9.83 lakh of other income, while total expenses were Rs 21.85 crore. In the corresponding September 2025 half year, total revenue was Rs 19.65 crore and total expenses were Rs 19.74 crore, resulting in a smaller Rs 8.49 lakh loss before tax.
Cost of materials consumed rose to Rs 16.91 crore from Rs 15.86 crore a year earlier, an increase of Rs 1.05 crore. Employee benefits expense was Rs 2.51 crore in both the September 2026 and September 2025 half years, while finance costs declined to Rs 51.15 lakh from Rs 70.40 lakh; that reduction did not offset the lower combined segment result.

How did Yug Decor's segment assets and liabilities move?
Yug Decor's total segment assets were Rs 38.26 crore at 30 September 2026, compared with Rs 36.38 crore at 31 March 2026. Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives assets increased to Rs 15.72 crore from Rs 12.28 crore, whereas Plywood Boards assets decreased to Rs 21.12 crore from Rs 22.67 crore.
Unallocated assets were Rs 1.42 crore at 30 September 2026, close to Rs 1.43 crore at 31 March 2026. The Rs 3.44 crore increase in Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives assets was therefore the main contributor to the Rs 1.88 crore rise in total segment assets over the six-month period.
Total segment liabilities increased to Rs 21.60 crore at 30 September 2026 from Rs 19.44 crore at 31 March 2026. Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives liabilities rose to Rs 8.16 crore from Rs 5.76 crore, Plywood Boards liabilities rose to Rs 5.00 crore from Rs 4.93 crore, and unallocated liabilities declined to Rs 8.44 crore from Rs 8.75 crore.
What else did Yug Decor report for the September 2026 half year?
Yug Decor reported a Rs 27.54 lakh net loss for the six months ended 30 September 2026, compared with a Rs 7.10 lakh net loss in the corresponding prior-year half and a Rs 14.76 lakh profit in the six months ended 31 March 2026. Basic and diluted earnings per share, which were not annualised, were both a loss of Rs 0.17, compared with a loss of Rs 0.07 a year earlier.
Net cash from operating activities was an outflow of Rs 54.56 lakh in the September 2026 half year. Trade receivables increased by Rs 2.41 crore and inventories increased by Rs 1.32 crore, while trade payables increased by Rs 2.56 crore during the period.
Cash and cash equivalents fell to Rs 72.25 lakh at 30 September 2026 from Rs 2.78 crore at 31 March 2026. The cash-flow statement reported Rs 1.59 crore of net cash used in financing activities, including Rs 86.26 lakh of net repayment of long-term borrowings, Rs 21.74 lakh of net repayment of short-term borrowings and Rs 51.15 lakh of interest paid.
Conclusion
Yug Decor's September 2026 half-year results show higher revenue in both operating segments but a lower combined segment result. Plywood Boards delivered a Rs 58.51 lakh year-on-year improvement in its result, but this did not compensate for the Rs 1.03 crore decline in the Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives result, leaving the company with a Rs 27.54 lakh net loss.
The unresolved issue is the reason for the decline in Speciality Chemicals-Adhesives profitability, as the filing provides no segment-level explanation. Future disclosures will also need to be assessed against the September 2026 balance-sheet and cash-flow position, which included Rs 17.31 crore of trade receivables, Rs 11.62 crore of inventories and Rs 72.25 lakh of cash and cash equivalents.
