How does AJAX retain its SLCM leadership?
AJAX retains its SLCM leadership through a reported 75.5% retail market share in H1 FY27. The company says it pioneered SLCMs in India in 1992 and has more than 33 years of operating experience across terrains and use cases. Its ARGO and UDAAN series are the disclosed SLCM product lines.
AJAX supports the SLCM business with 68 dealers and 132 customer touchpoints across India. The company says it uses customer feedback, quality checks and on-ground testing to refine machines and limit downtime. It also reported more than 650 domestic suppliers and asset turnover above seven times as part of its lean assembling and manufacturing model.
The UDAAN entry-level SLCM has 0.8 cubic metre capacity and is intended for rural housing, roads and first-time buyers. AJAX describes the product as bridging manual and mechanised mixers, adding a lower-capacity use case to its established SLCM offering.
Which non-SLCM products are growing at AJAX?
AJAX is expanding beyond SLCMs with batching plants, transit mixers, concrete pumps, self-propelled boom pumps, slip-form pavers and 3D concrete printers. The company reported 18% revenue CAGR for its non-SLCM presence over FY22–26 and said its focus is on pumps and batching plants.
Growth differed between pump categories over FY22–26. Concrete-pump volumes increased at a 16% CAGR, whereas boom-pump volumes increased at a 45% CAGR. Batching plants can produce 20 to 120 cubic metres of concrete per 20 minutes, transit mixers carry six to 10 cubic metres, and boom pumps can place concrete up to 44 metres high.
AJAX exported two slip-form pavers in FY25 and one in Q1 FY27. The company says it developed its slip-form paver entirely in-house in 2019. Its broader equipment range serves roadways, waterways, renewable-energy projects, airports, railways and industrial applications.
How large is AJAX's spares and services opportunity?
AJAX has a potential aftermarket base of more than 13,000 SLCMs sold in FY22–26. The company says SLCMs have an average useful life of about eight to 10 years, with maintenance and spares requirements generally beginning in the third or fourth year of operation.
AJAX estimates annual expenditure on maintenance, spares and services at about Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh per machine. It reported 68 personnel dedicated to after-sales services and characterises the business as having a higher margin profile, although the presentation does not provide a margin percentage or the business's share of total revenue.
AJAX's spares-and-services revenue rose from Rs 72.7 crore in FY22 to Rs 151.7 crore in FY26, representing a reported 20% CAGR. The absolute increase was Rs 34.7 crore between FY24 and FY25, compared with Rs 12.2 crore between FY25 and FY26. Separately, AJAX reported approximately 14% SLCM volume CAGR over FY16–26, which adds machines to the potential service base.

What innovation supports AJAX's wider product range?
AJAX supports product expansion with 64 employees in design and engineering. The company says it was the first Indian company to develop and supply a slip-form paver and a 3D concrete printer, with the paver developed in-house in 2019 and the printing machine commercialised in 2023.
AJAX's SLCM load-cell technology is designed to improve quality and consistency in concrete production and has been recognised by the Legal Metrology Department of the Government of India. The company says the technology is used by the Public Works Department, Irrigation Department and Border Roads Organization. Its disclosed product features also include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition-based control panels for batching plants and pre-programmed steering systems for pavers.
The Ajax School of Concrete is the company's research, development and training facility. Its stated work includes 3D concrete-printing solutions, high-performance extrusion mixes and training on equipment operation, maintenance and safety. AJAX does not disclose research expenditure, trainee numbers or revenue from the facility.
Can AJAX assemble and distribute a broader portfolio?
AJAX has three disclosed operating facilities and an upcoming assembly site expected to start operations in H2 FY27. Obadenahalli covers 39,660 square metres and has single-shift SLCM capacity of 7,200 units. Bashettihalli covers 19,340 square metres and lists capacity for 180 SLCMs, 180 concrete pumps, 60 boom pumps, three pavers and 240 transit mixers.
Gowribidanur covers 78,920 square metres, with stated single-shift capacity of 216 batching plants and 480 transit mixers. The Adinarayanahosahalli facility is described as having fungible capacity to assemble varied concrete equipment, without product-wise capacity disclosure. Its expected H2 FY27 operational date is the presentation's stated milestone for additional assembly flexibility.
AJAX had 68 exclusive dealers, 64 service centres and operations in 26 Indian states as of September 2026. It also reported 32 international distributors, export-revenue CAGR of 30% over FY22–26, and 23 dealers with relationships exceeding five years. Its customer base rose from 11,000 in FY22 to 23,000 in FY26, a reported 20% CAGR, and the company identifies SLCM customers as a source of referrals for non-SLCM equipment.
Conclusion
AJAX's 75.5% H1 FY27 SLCM retail share remains the base of its platform, while non-SLCM revenue growth of 18% CAGR over FY22–26 shows the company is adding product categories around concrete production, transportation, placement, paving and printing. The 45% boom-pump volume CAGR and Rs 151.7 crore of FY26 spares-and-services revenue show that the expansion includes both equipment and aftermarket activity.
The next disclosed event is the expected H2 FY27 operational start for the Adinarayanahosahalli facility, which AJAX says will provide fungible assembly capacity. Management's stated strategy is to strengthen non-SLCM products through quality rather than price undercutting; the pace of that expansion, along with demand from the more than 13,000 SLCMs sold in FY22–26, remains the disclosed point to watch.
