What did ABD disclose about ICONiQ White’s growth plan?
ABD did not disclose a target of 14 million ICONiQ White cases for FY27 or 20 million cases within two years on its October 28, 2026 earnings call. Management said the brand was operating at meaningful scale through deeper domestic penetration, the defence channel and a growing international presence, with average monthly volumes exceeding 1 million cases in Q2 FY27.
ABD reported 6.2 million ICONiQ White cases in H1 FY27, a 26.8% increase from H1 FY26, following 3.2 million cases in Q2 FY27. The company also said ICONiQ White had been recognised as the world’s fastest-growing Millionaire Whisky Brand for three consecutive calendar years, CY2023 through CY2025, but provided no forward annual volume commitment on the call.
The wider business crossed 10 million cases of quarterly volume for the first time in Q2 FY27, compared with 9.0 million cases in Q2 FY26. Consolidated Income from Operations increased 15.8% year on year to Rs 1,152 crore, indicating that the ICONiQ White expansion occurred alongside growth in both Mass Premium & Others and Prestige & Above.
How did ICONiQ White compare with the Prestige & Above segment?
ICONiQ White grew faster than ABD’s Prestige & Above segment in Q2 FY27, rising 20.6% to 3.2 million cases from 2.6 million cases a year earlier. Prestige & Above volume rose 6.1% to 4.5 million cases, making ICONiQ White a substantial contributor to the segment’s quarterly activity.
Prestige & Above sales increased 13.4% year on year and 7.5% quarter on quarter to Rs 605 crore in Q2 FY27. Realisation per case rose 6.9% year on year to Rs 1,339, while volume increased 3.8% sequentially, showing that both pricing or mix and volumes contributed to the segment’s sales growth.
Prestige & Above accounted for 56.4% of sales in Q2 FY27, down from 56.9% in Q2 FY26, and 45.0% of sales volume, down from 47.1%. Management attributed the lower share to faster growth in Mass Premium & Others, whose sales increased 15.9% to Rs 468 crore and volumes rose 15.5% to 5.5 million cases.
How is ABD attempting to revive Officer’s Choice Blue and Sterling Reserve B7?
ABD is attempting to rebuild Officer’s Choice Blue through a refreshed identity and premium packaging launched in September 2026. The new pack has a sleeker bottle, a transparent label, matte-gold foiling and an embossed “Trusted Since 1988” marker, and had been introduced in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and West Bengal by the Q2 FY27 call.
Management said Officer’s Choice Blue recorded sequential improvement in monthly performance during Q2 FY27. It said the pace of year-on-year decline moderated progressively and resulted in quarter-on-quarter growth, but it did not disclose case volumes, sales value, market share or a timetable for rolling the new pack out beyond the initial four states.
ABD identified Sterling Reserve B7 as a separate brand requiring renewed momentum in Prestige & Above. Management said it would focus on premium positioning, consumer engagement, brand salience and relevance across consumption occasions, but gave no numerical sales goal, new package design, market rollout list or performance comparison for the brand in Q2 FY27.

Which launches are intended to expand ABD’s premium portfolio?
ABD launched The Indian Edit in September 2026 to strengthen its premium whisky portfolio. The whisky blends Indian malt and grain spirits with fine Scotch malts and was available at launch in Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Rajasthan and Goa, with further distribution expansion planned.
Management described feedback on The Indian Edit from trade partners and consumers as encouraging, without quantifying volumes or revenue. The product adds a new premium-whisky proposition as ABD seeks to build on the Rs 605 crore of Prestige & Above sales reported in Q2 FY27.
ABD Maestro is the company’s super-premium to luxury platform, which assembled 10 brands across whisky, gin, vodka and rum in FY26, its first year of operations. By Q2 FY27, the portfolio had reached about 80% of its addressable Indian markets and seven overseas countries: Australia, Canada, Ivory Coast, New Zealand, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and the UAE.
For FY27, management said ABD Maestro would focus on wider distribution, deeper market penetration and consumer engagement through a dedicated premium execution team. Its activities include key-account coverage, on-premises visibility, mixology-led activation and social visibility, while the platform had received more than 35 global awards and recognitions since FY26.
How does international expansion support ABD’s brand strategy?
ABD expanded its international footprint to 42 countries in Q2 FY27 from 36 countries in Q4 FY26. Management said the additions included European and African markets and Australia, and described exports as an asset-light model with superior working-capital efficiency compared with the domestic business.
The company’s international strategy is centred on millionaire brands alongside the overseas development of ABD Maestro. In August 2026, ABD announced its first overseas local-production arrangement, for Officer’s Choice Blue in Malaysia, using an asset-light co-bottling arrangement with an established local partner.
Management said the Malaysian model could enable faster Southeast Asian entry with limited capital deployment while allowing ABD to oversee quality and brand standards. The company intends to assess phased introductions of additional brands based on market response and route-to-market readiness, and may evaluate comparable arrangements in other selected international markets.
The premium strategy is also supported by domestic manufacturing investment. ABD commissioned a captive malt distillery at Rangapur, Telangana, in October 2026 with annual capacity of about 4.0 million bulk litres and investment of about Rs 75 crore; management said it would support captive malt needs for Prestige & Above and future single-malt whisky development.
Conclusion
ABD’s Q2 FY27 disclosures show ICONiQ White as the fastest-growing disclosed component of its Prestige & Above portfolio, with 20.6% volume growth to 3.2 million cases versus 6.1% for the segment. The company is pairing that growth with The Indian Edit, wider ABD Maestro distribution and brand-rebuilding work for Officer’s Choice Blue and Sterling Reserve B7, rather than presenting quantified turnaround targets for the older brands.
The next disclosed milestones are the phased rollout of Officer’s Choice Blue’s September 2026 packaging reset beyond four states, further expansion of The Indian Edit beyond its seven initial markets and deeper ABD Maestro distribution. Management also plans to assess additional brands for its Malaysian co-bottling structure based on market response, while the Telangana malt distillery is intended to reduce external malt sourcing for the premium portfolio.
