What is BIL's order-book mix?
BIL's Rs 2,064.47 crore order book is led by buildings at Rs 1,079.26 crore, followed by railways and tunnels at Rs 480.60 crore. Roads and bridges account for Rs 259.44 crore, while river-protection work contributes Rs 245.17 crore. The respective shares are 52%, 23%, 13% and 12% in Q2FY27.
Buildings exceed the next-largest railways and tunnels segment by Rs 598.66 crore. Roads and bridges plus river protection total Rs 504.61 crore, leaving that combined amount Rs 574.65 crore below the buildings backlog. Railways and tunnels together with roads and bridges total Rs 740.04 crore, so buildings remain the largest individual segment rather than a majority of transport-related work.
How much of BIL's backlog is executable within 18 months?
BIL identifies more than Rs 900 crore of its order book as executable in the next 18 months, equal to 44% of the Rs 2,064.47 crore backlog. The remaining Rs 1,164 crore, or 56%, is shown as the balance order book. The presentation does not split the Rs 900 crore execution amount between buildings, railways and tunnels, roads and bridges, and river protection.
BIL gives an average project completion time of 18 to 36 months. The 18-month executable amount is therefore at the shorter end of that stated completion range, while more than half of the order book sits outside the initial 18-month bucket. The company presents this measure as execution visibility, not as revenue guidance or a segment-level completion schedule.
How does BIL's tender pipeline compare with secured orders?
BIL reports Rs 2,500 crore of tenders under evaluation and in its pipeline, compared with a secured order book of Rs 2,064 crore. The presentation assigns 45% of the Rs 4,564 crore combined total to secured orders and 55% to tenders under evaluation. The tender pipeline is Rs 436 crore larger than the secured-order figure shown on the same slide.
Only the Rs 2,064.47 crore order book is presented as secured work, whereas the Rs 2,500 crore pipeline remains under evaluation. That distinction means the pipeline is not reported as awarded backlog. Separately, BIL's Q2FY27 presentation lists projects worth Rs 317.01 crore under new order wins during the July to September 2026 quarter.
