What are Marksans’s FY27–28 growth milestones?
Marksans’s stated FY27–28 milestones are 16 billion units of annual Indian capacity, expansion of US and North American revenue, and a move towards being a top-three Indian pharma company in the UK by revenue. The roadmap also identifies growth of the European front end, adjacent OTC categories in Australia, and stronger revenue in Canada and Europe as planned priorities.
The capacity target sits within four operating actions: broadening into adjacent OTC categories and selected prescription-to-OTC switches; deepening the product range per retailer; expanding into new geographies organically and through selective front-end acquisitions; and scaling manufacturing utilisation. Marksans says its Indian plants are intended to make tablets, hard capsules, ointments, liquids and creams, providing several dosage-form routes for the expansion.
The presentation contains two capacity measures that need to be tracked separately. Its FY27–28 milestone specifies 16 billion units per year in India, while its investment-thesis page refers to 26 billion units of capacity and says Goa Unit 2 is doubling Indian output. Marksans does not reconcile the scope, timing or utilisation assumptions behind those two statements.
How does Marksans plan to grow US store-brand OTC revenue?
Marksans plans to increase US store-brand OTC revenue by expanding store-brand penetration in North America, and it has explicitly stated an aim to double that revenue. The company identifies a larger retailer base, more stock-keeping units (SKUs) per existing retailer, and a greater share of core OTC categories as the mechanisms, but does not disclose a US revenue base or deadline for the target.
The US product programme spans several consumer-health categories. Marksans launched 112 new SKUs in FY26 and reported 51 products in the US pipeline. Its listed US launches include esomeprazole magnesium delayed-release capsules for digestive health, guaifenesin extended-release tablets for cough and cold, acetaminophen and ibuprofen tablets for pain management, and cetirizine tablets for anti-allergy.
The target follows a longer OTC expansion record disclosed by management. OTC revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate of 20.4% from FY17 to FY26, and Marksans says OTC revenue was 5.3 times its FY17 level by FY26. The company identifies pain management and analgesics, upper respiratory, digestive and anti-allergic products as its key therapeutic coverage areas.

What product pipeline supports Marksans’s regional expansion?
Marksans’s regional pipeline is led by UK filings, US products in development, and planned Australia and New Zealand launches. In the UK, the company reported 18 product approvals and 30 filings in FY26, with 24 products awaiting approval at 31 March 2026; it also plans to file more than 200 products over the following four years.
In Australia and New Zealand, Marksans launched 23 SKUs in FY26 and plans 17 SKUs in FY27 across 22 products. It also established a prescription (Rx) brand division in FY26 with 11 product launches. The regional programme therefore includes both adjacent OTC categories and prescription products, while the wider roadmap includes selected future prescription-to-OTC switches.
Other markets provide regulatory and commercial routes for the expansion programme. Marksans filed 14 products in Canada in FY26 and reported more than 230 licensed products across the United Arab Emirates and other rest-of-world geographies. In Europe, it completed the acquisition of QlinIQ B.V. in the Netherlands on 1 June 2026 and ABCnow GmbH in Germany on 8 July 2026, with owned front-end market access now spanning Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada.
How is Marksans funding manufacturing and front-end expansion?
Marksans reported Rs 1,124 crore of cash and Rs 1,095 crore of net cash at 30 September 2026. The company says it has remained cash-positive for more than five years and describes its inorganic growth approach as calibrated, without setting a number, size or timetable for further acquisitions.
In the first half of FY27 (H1FY27), operating cash generation was Rs 322 crore and free cash flow (FCF) was Rs 275 crore, while capital expenditure was Rs 46 crore. Operating cash generation exceeded reported FCF by Rs 47 crore. The presentation does not provide a full bridge for H1FY27 cash movements or split spending between Indian capacity expansion and acquisitions.
Marksans held CARE AA- with a Stable outlook and India Ratings AA- with a Positive outlook for long-term facilities, alongside CARE A1+ and India Ratings A1+ short-term ratings. India Ratings revised its outlook to Positive from Stable. Total assets were Rs 4,360 crore in H1FY27, compared with Rs 3,442 crore in H1FY26, an increase of Rs 918 crore across the two half-year reporting points.
Conclusion
Marksans’s roadmap combines a defined FY27–28 Indian manufacturing target of 16 billion units per year with an aim to double US store-brand OTC revenue. UK filings, US launches, Australia and New Zealand products, Canadian filings, and the Netherlands and Germany front-end acquisitions are the disclosed routes to broader sales coverage, while Rs 1,095 crore of net cash and Rs 275 crore of H1FY27 FCF form the reported financial base.
The next disclosed milestones are the 16-billion-unit Indian capacity target, growth in US and North American revenue, and progress towards a top-three Indian pharma position in the UK by revenue. Marksans also plans 17 Australia and New Zealand SKUs in FY27, has 24 UK products awaiting approval as of 31 March 2026, and has yet to clarify how its separately stated 26-billion-unit capacity figure relates to the FY27–28 India target.
