Choice reported total wealth-products assets under management (AUM) of Rs 6,047.1 crore in Q2 FY27, 26% above Q2 FY26, supported primarily by growth in products outside mutual funds. Choice is also testing mutual-fund distribution through India Post Payments Bank and has moved its asset-management offering from passive products toward an active large-and-mid-cap scheme.

How has Choice's wealth distribution AUM changed?
Choice's wealth-products AUM increased to Rs 6,047.1 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 4,806.7 crore in Q2 FY26, a 26% rise shown in the presentation. The recovery followed a decline to Rs 4,267.7 crore in Q4 FY26, before the total rose to Rs 4,960.9 crore in Q1 FY27 and then reached the Q2 FY27 level.
Choice's mutual-fund AUM in Q2 FY27 was Rs 4,108.1 crore, only Rs 4.6 crore above Q2 FY26, while other-products AUM rose by Rs 1,234.8 crore over the same comparison. Other products therefore accounted for most of the increase in total AUM, growing from Rs 703.2 crore to Rs 1,938.0 crore across the five reported quarters.
Choice's equity mutual-fund AUM rose 49% to Rs 3,013.4 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 2,023.4 crore in Q2 FY26. Its systematic investment plan, or SIP, book increased 32% from Rs 14.6 crore to Rs 19.2 crore over that period, after remaining at Rs 18.4 crore in both Q3 FY26 and Q4 FY26. Equity represented 73% of the reported AUM composition, compared with 13% in debt and 14% in debt-liquid investments.
Why is Choice targeting wider wealth distribution?
Choice is pursuing wider wealth distribution because its presentation identifies intermediary-led access as material to mutual-fund adoption, particularly beyond the top 30 cities, or B30 markets. The presentation cites an estimate that B30 mutual-fund AUM could increase from Rs 13.8 lakh crore to Rs 24 lakh crore by 2030, and says 75% of B30 mutual-fund AUM is distributed through intermediaries.
Choice also frames the strategy around investor guidance and a growing affluent population. Its cited market estimates put the number of high-net-worth individuals with more than US$1 million of investable assets at 5.5 lakh by 2028, up from 3.75 lakh in FY24, while 77% of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investors are said to require professional investment assistance.
The wider mutual-fund market is another part of that context. The presentation reports quarterly average assets under management, or QAAUM, of Rs 83.1 lakh crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 24.5 lakh crore in FY19, and forecasts Rs 147 lakh crore to Rs 155 lakh crore by FY30. It also reports 28.62 crore mutual-fund folios as of September 2026, versus 23.45 crore in FY25, indicating continued expansion in the pool of accounts distributors and fund managers can serve.

What has Choice achieved in its India Post Payments Bank pilot?
Choice onboarded 26,078 customers and mobilised Rs 1.12 crore of AUM in a 38-day India Post Payments Bank pilot conducted up to October 29, 2026. The presentation characterises the collaboration as a nationwide digital mutual-fund distribution initiative, but the disclosed customer and AUM results relate specifically to the pilot rather than a full-network rollout.
The partnership provides access to a stated network covering 28 states and eight union territories, with 1.6 lakh post offices and more than 13.5 crore account holders. Those figures describe the India Post Payments Bank network cited by Choice, not the number of investment customers acquired by Choice, which was 26,078 at the end of the disclosed pilot period.
During July 1 to September 30, 2026, Choice says it completed middleware integration, validated about 12 live investment cases and stabilised do-it-yourself onboarding. It also standardised nomination workflows and statutory disclosures, while initiating a customer-care framework and a unified management-information-system dashboard. These steps address the operating processes needed before broader distribution can be assessed.
How is Choice moving from passive to active mutual funds?
Choice says it is moving from passive investing to active wealth creation after obtaining a Securities and Exchange Board of India asset-management-company licence on August 1, 2025. The presentation reports Rs 183.49 crore of AUM and 22,524 folios for its mutual-fund business.
Choice launched a gold exchange-traded fund in Q3 FY26, reporting more than 28,000 folios and Rs 57 crore mobilised. The presentation calls that the highest mobilisation in the gold exchange-traded-fund category. In Q4 FY26, Choice launched Nifty 50 and Nifty Next 50 index funds and reported Rs 30 crore mobilised through those two index products.
Choice added an overnight fund in July during H1 FY27 and identifies its large-and-mid-cap fund as its first active scheme in H2 FY27. The new-fund-offer period for that active fund ran from October 20, 2026 to November 3, 2026. A gold fund of fund is listed as planned, so the presentation does not provide a launch date, mobilisation figure or folio target for that product.
Conclusion
Choice's disclosed wealth strategy combines three channels: a Rs 6,047.1 crore distribution book, a pilot using India Post Payments Bank's stated 1.6 lakh-post-office network, and a mutual-fund business with Rs 183.49 crore of AUM. The Q2 FY27 distribution increase was driven more by other products than mutual funds, even as equity mutual-fund AUM and the SIP book rose.
The next disclosed milestones are the assessment of the 26,078-customer postal pilot after its October 29, 2026 endpoint, the outcome of the active large-and-mid-cap fund's October 20 to November 3, 2026 offer period, and Choice's planned gold fund of fund. The presentation gives no rollout timetable for the postal initiative and no mobilisation target for the active or planned fund products.
