What EPC contracts did GTL award?
GTL awarded engineering, procurement and construction, or EPC, contracts worth Rs 1,800 crore for implementation of the Anjar-Palanpur Pipeline Project in July 2026. The disclosure gives the aggregate value and project name, but does not identify contractors, contract packages, project length or a commissioning date.
The Rs 1,800 crore awards are a disclosed execution step within GTL’s Rs 3,500 crore expansion-led capital-expenditure plan. The contracts represent about half of that planned outlay based on the two disclosed figures, although GTL has not stated that they cover the whole expansion programme.
GTL’s expansion plan is intended to increase pipeline capacity and reach new geographical areas. GTL said it has a network of more than 2,900 kilometres, with 700 kilometres of planned additions that would take the network beyond 3,600 kilometres.
How much has GTL spent on expansion?
GTL incurred approximately Rs 300 crore of capital expenditure during H1 FY27, the six months ended September 30, 2026. The spending is separate from the Rs 1,800 crore value of EPC work awarded in July 2026, as the filing reports one as incurred capital expenditure and the other as contract awards.
GTL did not provide a project-wise allocation of the approximately Rs 300 crore spent in H1 FY27. It also did not disclose how much of the spending related to the Anjar-Palanpur Pipeline Project, whether it included advances to contractors, or a capital-expenditure schedule for the rest of FY27.
The distinction matters because the Rs 300 crore figure records expenditure during the first half, while Rs 1,800 crore describes the value of implementation contracts awarded. GTL has not disclosed when the remaining planned outlay will be spent or when the planned 700 kilometres will become operational.
How did GTL perform in Q2 FY27?
GTL reported revenue of Rs 289.57 crore in Q2 FY27, up 8.5% year on year from Rs 267.20 crore in Q2 FY26. Profit after tax, or PAT, rose to Rs 120.44 crore from Rs 117.87 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
GTL linked higher revenue to increased transportation volumes across its HP, LP and HAPI networks. HP Grid volume increased 9% year on year in Q2 FY27, LP Grid volume rose 31%, and HAPI Grid volume increased 17%; GTL did not disclose the absolute volume carried on any of the three networks.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, excluding other income, was Rs 169.14 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with Rs 168.22 crore a year earlier. EBITDA margin declined to 58.41% from 62.96%, while PAT margin declined to 41.59% from 44.11%; GTL did not explain the reasons for the changes in margins.

What do GTL’s H1 FY27 results show?
GTL generated Rs 566.70 crore of revenue in H1 FY27, compared with Rs 541.94 crore in H1 FY26. PAT was Rs 258.25 crore, up from Rs 255.09 crore, while diluted earnings per share increased to Rs 8.26 from Rs 8.16.
H1 FY27 EBITDA excluding other income was Rs 362.90 crore, marginally below Rs 363.46 crore in H1 FY26. EBITDA margin was 64.04%, down from 67.07%, and PAT margin was 45.57%, down from 47.07%, despite the increase in first-half revenue and PAT.
The quarter-on-quarter comparison also showed different movements in revenue and earnings. Q2 FY27 revenue of Rs 289.57 crore exceeded Q1 FY27 revenue of Rs 277.12 crore, but Q2 PAT of Rs 120.44 crore was below Rs 137.81 crore in Q1 FY27 and Q2 EBITDA of Rs 169.14 crore was below Rs 193.75 crore.
For FY26, GTL reported revenue of Rs 1,070.41 crore, EBITDA excluding other income of Rs 608.20 crore and PAT of Rs 405.63 crore. GTL did not provide FY27 revenue, EBITDA, PAT or capital-expenditure guidance in the announcement.
What is GTL planning for its network?
GTL is planning Rs 3,500 crore of expansion-led capital expenditure to increase capacity and geographical reach. The plan calls for 700 kilometres of additions to GTL’s existing network of more than 2,900 kilometres across 26 districts in Gujarat.
Chief Executive Officer Prakash Karnik said GTL expects India’s natural-gas demand forecast to reach 297 million metric standard cubic metres per day, or MMSCMD, by 2030. He described the expansion as preparation for this expected demand, rather than providing a forecast for GTL’s own transported volumes, revenue or profit.
Chairman Manoj Kumar Das said higher volumes across the HP, LP and HAPI networks supported Q2 FY27 revenue and PAT growth. GTL did not disclose customer commitments, tariff information, financing details or project-by-project capacity additions for the Rs 3,500 crore plan.
Conclusion
The Rs 1,800 crore EPC awards move GTL’s disclosed expansion from planning towards implementation, alongside approximately Rs 300 crore of H1 FY27 capital expenditure. The operating backdrop showed Q2 FY27 revenue rising 8.5% year on year to Rs 289.57 crore as volumes increased across all three named networks, while EBITDA and PAT margins declined from Q2 FY26 levels.
The next matters to watch are progress on the Anjar-Palanpur Pipeline Project and deployment of the balance of GTL’s Rs 3,500 crore plan toward a network exceeding 3,600 kilometres. GTL has not disclosed a completion date, contractor names, a detailed spending timetable or FY27 financial guidance, leaving those milestones unresolved.
