What is Qualiance building in Tiruppur?
Qualiance is building a four-floor factory for complex outerwear at Pongupalayam, Avinashi, in Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu. The planned facility will have 1.67 lakh square feet of built-up area, 600 sewing machines and annual production capacity of 10.8 lakh pieces.
The company places the project cost at Rs 39.14 crore, comprising Rs 26.09 crore for civil work and Rs 13.05 crore for machinery. Qualiance states that land cost Rs 87 lakh and was funded through internal accruals. The facility is also planned with solar power, rainwater harvesting and energy-efficient lights.
Land-use conversion was received in July 2026, according to Qualiance. The company describes the proposed facility as a white-category unit and says pollution-board consent is not required for it.
How much will Qualiance’s apparel capacity increase?
Qualiance says the Tiruppur factory would raise its annual capacity to 15.30 lakh pieces from 4.5 lakh pieces. The 10.8 lakh-piece addition is 2.4 times the existing capacity, while the combined capacity would be 3.4 times the current level.
The company says the added capacity is intended to enable larger and value-added programmes. The Tiruppur site is specifically identified for complex outerwear, a category connected to Qualiance’s disclosed in-house capabilities in seam sealing, bonded construction, ultrasonic welding, laser cutting and thermos-fusing.
Qualiance says production, finishing and quality checks are conducted under one roof, with none outsourced. Its broader capacity strategy also includes maintaining multi-stage inspection and testing while investing in infrastructure and trained personnel.
How will Qualiance finance the Tiruppur factory?
Qualiance says Rs 38 crore of the Rs 39.14 crore factory project cost is to be funded from its initial public offering, or IPO. Civil construction accounts for Rs 26.09 crore and plant and machinery for Rs 13.05 crore, while the separate Rs 87 lakh land cost came from internal accruals.
The disclosed IPO funding is close to the stated construction and machinery expenditure of Rs 39.14 crore. The presentation does not specify how any difference between the Rs 38 crore IPO allocation and the Rs 39.14 crore project cost will be funded, beyond stating that land was financed internally.
Qualiance reported revenue from operations of Rs 77 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 53 crore in FY25 and Rs 37 crore in FY24. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, rose from Rs 5 crore in FY24 to Rs 8 crore in FY25 and Rs 17 crore in FY26, while EBITDA margin increased from 13% to 22%.
Cash flow from operations changed from negative Rs 5 crore in FY25 to Rs 8 crore in FY26, after Rs 3 crore in FY24. Qualiance also reported a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.82 times in FY26, versus 1.22 times in FY25; return on equity was 34% and return on capital employed was 31%, compared with 20% and 17%, respectively, a year earlier.

When will Qualiance start commercial production in Tiruppur?
Qualiance’s detailed factory schedule identifies July 2027 for commercial operations at Tiruppur. It marks land and approvals as completed in April 2026, civil construction from September 2026 to March 2027, and plant-and-machinery activity from January to March 2027.
Trial runs and certification are scheduled from April to May 2027 in the detailed timeline. The company’s roadmap separately calls for civil work to be completed by March 2027 and plant and machinery to be installed in March 2027.
There is a difference between the two disclosed descriptions of the final timing. The roadmap places trial runs, certification and commercial operations between March 2027 and June 2027, while the detailed project table gives July 2027 as the commercial-operations date.
What does Qualiance plan after the factory opens?
Qualiance says its FY28 priority is to begin filling the new 10.8 lakh-piece annual capacity. The company plans to seek larger, value-added programmes from institutional clients and private brands while keeping multi-stage inspection across both plants.
From FY28 onward, Qualiance plans to diversify by onboarding premium outdoor, performance-wear and workwear brands in Europe and North America. Its stated actions include participating in trade fairs, connecting with buying offices, running sampling programmes for new customers and arranging facility audits.
The planned geographic push comes after FY26 revenue was concentrated in Switzerland, which represented 81% of the reported mix. The United States accounted for 17%, the United Kingdom for 2% and India for 1%; the presentation’s percentages total 101% because of rounding.
Qualiance also plans to establish relationships with global technical-material suppliers, focus on supply-chain coordination and workforce development, and measure costs at every production stage. These actions form part of the company’s stated effort to maintain cost discipline as production capacity scales.
Conclusion
Qualiance’s Tiruppur project sets out a defined expansion in complex-outerwear manufacturing: Rs 39.14 crore of civil and machinery spending, 600 planned sewing machines and 10.8 lakh additional pieces of annual capacity. If commissioned as planned, the facility would lift total capacity from 4.5 lakh to 15.30 lakh pieces a year and support the company’s plan for larger, value-added programmes.
The next disclosed milestones are completion of civil work and machinery installation by March 2027, followed by trial runs and certification. The key timing matter is the difference between the roadmap’s March-to-June 2027 commercial-operations range and the detailed schedule’s July 2027 date, followed by Qualiance’s FY28 plan to fill the new capacity.
