How did Signpost’s revenue mix change in Q2FY27?
Signpost’s Q2FY27 mix moved further toward Digital OOH and direct business even though total revenue was broadly unchanged year on year. The quarterly revenue breakup recorded Rs 135 crore in Q2FY27, compared with Rs 134 crore in Q2FY26, after revenue of Rs 142 crore in Q3FY26, Rs 162 crore in Q4FY26 and Rs 152 crore in Q1FY27.
Digital OOH increased by 9 percentage points over the five-quarter comparison, from 25% of revenue in Q2FY26 to 34% in Q2FY27. Transit Media declined by 10 percentage points from 58% to 48%, while Conventional OOH and Static Media increased by 1 percentage point to 18%. Transit Media includes metros, airports and shelters under Signpost’s reporting definition.
What drove Digital OOH to 34% of Signpost revenue?
Signpost’s Digital OOH share reached 34% in both Q1FY27 and Q2FY27, following a rise from 30% in Q4FY26. This was the highest proportion in the five reported quarters, compared with 24% in Q3FY26 and 25% in Q2FY26. Management described digital as about one-third of revenue in its quarterly commentary.
The higher digital proportion occurred while total quarterly revenue declined from Rs 152 crore in Q1FY27 to Rs 135 crore in Q2FY27. Management said Navratri began nearly three weeks later than in the previous year, moving a substantial portion of festive campaigns into Q3, while large corporates were cautious with second-quarter budgets. The presentation does not allocate that timing effect to a specific segment.
How important is direct business to Signpost’s sales?
Signpost reported that Direct Biz. generated 73% of Q2FY27 revenue, compared with 51% in Q2FY26. The 22-percentage-point change coincided with a decline in Aligned biz, defined as business via third-party contracts, from 49% to 27% in the same year-on-year comparison.
Direct Biz. represented 71% in Q3FY26, 73% in Q4FY26 and 80% in Q1FY27 before returning to 73% in Q2FY27. The Q2 share was therefore 7 percentage points below the preceding quarter but equal to Q4FY26. Management said direct client relationships were nearly three-quarters of revenue and reduced dependence on intermediaries.

The regional changes were uneven across the five quarters. South declined from 28% in Q1FY27 to 25% in Q2FY27, while West rose by 7 percentage points sequentially. The quarter therefore recorded a 7-percentage-point year-on-year increase in New Acquisition share and a 10-percentage-point reduction in Emerging share. Legacy was the largest vintage category in all five reported periods, ranging from 59% in Q4FY26 to 63% in Q2FY27. The presentation provides no revenue amounts or further definitions for the three contract-vintage labels.
What does Signpost’s Q2 revenue mix indicate alongside earnings?
Signpost’s mix shift occurred in a quarter with consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 134.5 crore, gross profit of Rs 51.6 crore and operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of Rs 28.4 crore. Gross profit margin declined to 38.3% from 41.4% in Q2FY26, while EBITDA margin declined to 21.1% from 25.7%.
Management attributed the margin movement mainly to revenue shifting into the next quarter while long-term media rights remained largely fixed despite quarterly billing. In H1FY27, revenue from operations increased 6% to Rs 286.8 crore, net profit increased 11% to Rs 34.5 crore and net cash from operating activities rose to Rs 58.1 crore from Rs 13.6 crore in H1FY26.
Conclusion
Signpost’s Q2FY27 revenue base remained led by Transit Media at 48%, but Digital OOH accounted for 34% and Direct Biz. for 73%. Against Q2FY26, digital rose by 9 percentage points, direct business by 22 percentage points and New Acquisition by 7 percentage points, while quarterly revenue was nearly unchanged at Rs 135 crore in the revenue breakup.
The next disclosed items to watch are the full festive season in Q3 and the ramp-up of Bengaluru Metro, the Mumbai premium bus fleet and Kolkata Streetscape. Management said Nashik event-led projects are planned to begin from February and continue into Q1FY28, and said it remained confident of double-digit FY27 revenue growth with a stronger second half for revenue and profitability.
