Why did Titan’s international jewellery revenue rise 105%?
Titan’s international jewellery revenue increased from Rs 561 crore in Q2FY26 to Rs 1,152 crore in Q2FY27, or 105% year on year (YoY), because the current-period total includes Damas after its acquisition. Titan said the international totals are not strictly comparable because Damas income and EBIT are included post acquisition, meaning the reported rise combines acquired revenue with growth in the existing overseas portfolio.
Tanishq, Mia and CaratLane international revenue rose 40.6% YoY to Rs 788 crore in Q2FY27 from Rs 561 crore a year earlier. Titan attributed about 41% growth in North America to retail traction among the Indian diaspora and sustained brand investment, while GCC growth of about 23% was aided by new stores and conversions. The portfolio’s separate international-footprint disclosure was 33 stores as of September 30, 2026, after one Los Angeles store opened during the quarter.
Damas core generated Rs 364 crore of revenue in Q2FY27. Tanishq-converted stores, for which Damas is the franchise partner, generated another Rs 110 crore. Damas entity revenue, excluding bullion sales, was therefore Rs 474 crore, as converted-store sales are included under Tanishq for brand reporting but remain within Damas LLC statutory financial reporting.
What caused Damas to report a quarterly operating loss?
Damas core recorded a Rs 24 crore EBIT loss in Q2FY27, equivalent to a negative 6.5% EBIT margin on Rs 364 crore of revenue. Titan said consumer demand across the six GCC countries remained soft because of volatile geopolitical disruptions. The company said retail and promotional initiatives were required to support growth, without quantifying their cost or sales effect.
The loss contrasted with Rs 43 crore of EBIT from Tanishq, Mia and CaratLane international operations in Q2FY27. That portfolio recorded a 5.5% EBIT margin, compared with 2.8% in Q2FY26, a 262-basis-point increase. A basis point is one-hundredth of a percentage point. Damas reduced the total international segment margin to 1.7% from 2.8%, although segment EBIT increased from Rs 16 crore to Rs 20 crore.
Damas core had 122 stores across six GCC countries on September 30, 2026. It added two stores and closed two during Q2FY27, leaving its store count unchanged. Retail area increased by 1 thousand square feet from June 2026 to 132 thousand square feet, while town presence remained at 23, showing that the soft-demand period coincided with no net expansion in the core store base.

How does Damas compare with Titan’s domestic jewellery business?
Damas’s negative 6.5% EBIT margin differed from Titan’s reported domestic jewellery margin of 14.0% in Q2FY27. Domestic jewellery revenue rose 20.8% YoY to Rs 16,343 crore and EBIT rose 53.1% to Rs 2,281 crore. Those reported domestic EBIT results include one-time customs-duty benefits disclosed by Titan for its principal jewellery portfolios.
Tanishq, Mia and Zoya domestic revenue was Rs 14,935 crore in Q2FY27, up about 20% YoY, with same-store sales growth of about 15%. Excluding a Rs 490 crore one-time customs-duty benefit, EBIT for that portfolio was Rs 1,652 crore, up about 20% YoY, at an 11.1% margin. Titan said it continued investments in consumer engagement amid evolving competitive dynamics, while studded jewellery demand and average ticket sizes increased.
CaratLane’s revenue grew 31.3% YoY to Rs 1,408 crore, faster than the principal domestic portfolio’s roughly 20% growth. Its reported EBIT was Rs 138 crore at a 9.8% margin, but EBIT excluding a Rs 46 crore customs-duty benefit was Rs 92 crore at a 6.6% margin, down about 15% YoY. The domestic comparison shows that reported jewellery profitability was also affected by one-time duty benefits, separate from Damas’s acquisition-related effect on international comparisons.
What is Titan doing to expand jewellery internationally?
Titan added one international Tanishq store in Q2FY27, taking Tanishq’s overseas network to 32 stores in September 2026. Mia had one international store and CaratLane had two in the retail-network table, which totals 35 listed overseas brand stores. This differs from the 33-store international-footprint figure disclosed separately by Titan, and the presentation does not reconcile the two counts.
In the GCC, Titan has used Tanishq store conversions alongside new-store expansion. Converted stores generated Rs 110 crore in Q2FY27 and are included in Tanishq brand reporting, while their statutory financial performance remains within Damas LLC. This reporting structure means Damas core revenue was Rs 364 crore, whereas Damas entity revenue was Rs 474 crore excluding bullion sales.
Damas introduced the Nuqoosh contemporary fine-jewellery collection, which reinterprets Arabesque heritage, and ran its Emirati Women’s Day campaign, “Her Nation, Her Strength.” These product and marketing actions accompanied the retail and promotional initiatives Titan said were necessary during Q2FY27’s soft GCC demand. Titan did not disclose a target or timetable for returning Damas to positive EBIT.
Conclusion
Titan’s Q2FY27 results show that Damas materially increased reported international jewellery revenue to Rs 1,152 crore from Rs 561 crore a year earlier, while the acquired core operation produced a Rs 24 crore EBIT loss. The contrast between Damas’s negative 6.5% margin and the 5.5% margin of Tanishq, Mia and CaratLane international operations explains why total international profitability did not match revenue growth.
The next reported periods will indicate whether Titan’s retail and promotional measures improve consumer demand across the GCC while Damas maintains its 122-store core network. The revenue split between Damas core and converted Tanishq stores also remains relevant, as converted stores contributed Rs 110 crore in Q2FY27 but are presented differently in brand reporting and statutory entity financials.
