Madhusudan Masala Limited manufactures and markets ground spices, whole spices, blended masalas, instant mixes, tea, and grocery products across owned brands including Double Hathi, Maharaja, Mantavya, and 77 Green. Its operating model combines in-house processing, seasonal raw-material procurement, cold storage, packaging, and a growing multi-state distribution network. The company is scaling rapidly from a regional Gujarat player into a multi-state branded FMCG business. Branded products contributed approximately 70% of H1FY27 revenue versus 47% in FY23, while the distribution footprint expanded to more than 50,000 retailers, 6,800 wholesalers, 400 distributors, and 18 super stockists across 11 states. H1FY27 revenue increased 65.8% year-on-year to INR 1,959.5 million, while net profit rose 68.7% to INR 129.2 million. However, EBITDA margin declined to 11.2% from 11.9% in the comparable period, indicating that rapid expansion and mix changes have not yet produced continuous margin improvement. The completed Sanosara greenfield facility could increase consolidated manufacturing capacity from 7,800 MT to 13,200 MT, subject to approvals. Its advanced processing technology, including cold-air processing and cryogenic grinding, may strengthen quality and premium-product capabilities, although the company must convert this capacity into demand without weakening working-capital discipline. Vitagreen has materially changed the company’s strategic profile by adding blended-spice expertise, the 77 Green brand, Northern India infrastructure, and distribution capabilities. The business is pursuing a dual-engine model: Madhusudan’s ground spices provide volume and cash flow, while Vitagreen’s blended products are positioned as the margin and national-scale growth engine.
