What is Emerald Finance Ekam?
Emerald Finance Ekam is an integrated digital financial-wellness platform combining salary access, loans, investments, insurance and employee benefits. Emerald Finance announced the platform in its November 5, 2026, Q2 FY27 earnings call and described its status as a soft launch, rather than a completed rollout across its corporate network.
The platform expands the company’s EWA offering into a broader product range. Management said Ekam users can access loans, investments, mutual funds and insurance, and that Emerald Finance had tied up with SafeGold to enable digital-gold purchases through the platform.
Ekam does not replace EWA in the disclosed strategy. Management said the roughly 12% to 13% engagement figure applied only to EWA and that the company would cross-sell to remaining employees through Ekam, using the platform to offer products even to employees who do not transact on salary access in a given month.
The launch coincided with continued corporate acquisition in Q2 FY27. Emerald Finance onboarded 24 corporate partners across manufacturing, hospitality, education, apparel, technology and financial services, although it did not disclose the employee count associated with those 24 employers.
How many employees can Emerald Finance reach through Ekam?
Emerald Finance said its corporate network covered roughly 40,000 to 42,000 employees, of whom 5,500 transacted monthly on EWA. Management gave an EWA engagement ratio of roughly 12% to 13% during the call and later cited roughly 14%, meaning most employees in the network were not monthly EWA users.
This difference between the total employee base and 5,500 monthly EWA users is the disclosed cross-sell opportunity for Ekam. Management said the 12% to 13% EWA ratio did not reflect potential use of loans, investments, insurance or digital gold by the other employees in the corporate network.
Emerald Finance is also focusing on larger corporates in India after the Ekam launch. Management did not give an employee-base target for those prospective clients, but its emphasis on larger employers makes employee additions, alongside the existing count of 270 corporates, a relevant measure of the platform’s reach.

How does Ekam fit Emerald Finance's Q2 FY27 revenue mix?
Ekam fits into a revenue mix in which interest income was the largest disclosed source in Q2 FY27, followed by distribution and EWA. For every Rs 100 earned during the quarter, management said Rs 49 came from interest income, Rs 39.20 from distribution and Rs 11.80 from EWA.
Management said distribution income had declined in the preceding two quarters because of tighter lender credit norms and pressure in gold-loan distribution. It said funding at at least two or three large non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) it works with had fallen by 40% to 50%, while regulatory requirements affected gold-loan bank appraisals and sourcing practices.
Against that setting, Ekam provides a digital route to offer several third-party financial products to employees, though management did not disclose commissions, pricing or a revenue target for the platform. Emerald Finance reported consolidated Q2 FY27 total income of Rs 10.07 crore, up 45.81% year on year, and profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 5.30 crore, up 47.14%.
For H1 FY27, consolidated total income was Rs 19.51 crore, rising 42.94% year on year, while PAT reached Rs 10.18 crore, up 49.80%. Management said the second half is typically stronger because of festive-season EWA demand and activity towards the March quarter, but it did not provide a separate Ekam income forecast.
What is Emerald Finance's Ekam rollout plan?
Emerald Finance plans to migrate its 270 existing EWA corporate partners to Ekam gradually following the Q2 FY27 soft launch. Management did not disclose a date by which all 270 corporates, or the roughly 40,000 to 42,000 employees represented by its network, would be onboarded.
The company’s FY27 sourcing target is 120 corporate clients. Management said it had sourced 54 by the November 5 call and was nearly halfway to that annual objective by the first half, while also saying it aimed to maintain a minimum pace of 120 additions annually rather than state a two- or three-year target.
Management identified deeper adoption and usage at larger corporate clients as a priority, without setting a numerical target for EWA activation. The operating measures to watch are therefore whether monthly EWA transactors rise from 5,500 and whether employees outside that group use Ekam’s loans, investments, insurance or digital-gold options.
The rollout is occurring alongside other lending and distribution relationships. Emerald Finance said it had signed Unity Small Finance Bank as lead facilitator for bank-transfer funding, was progressing another private-sector bank relationship, and had assets under management (AUM) of Rs 131 crore in its MSME lending business; management said it conservatively expected AUM to exceed Rs 150 crore by FY27-end.
Conclusion
Ekam expands Emerald Finance’s employee offering from EWA to a platform including loans, investments, insurance and digital gold. The immediate potential rests on the difference between a network of roughly 40,000 to 42,000 employees and 5,500 monthly EWA transactors, while EWA represented Rs 11.80 of every Rs 100 of Q2 FY27 income.
Next, management’s migration of 270 corporate partners, progress toward 120 sourced clients in FY27 and any disclosure of non-EWA product adoption will indicate the pace of the rollout. Management also expects the third and fourth quarters to be better than the first two quarters, while the timing of improvement in distribution remains linked to partner lending policies and gold-loan conditions.
