How did Radiowalla's H1 FY27 EBITDA margin change?
Radiowalla's EBITDA margin increased by 9 percentage points to 8% in H1 FY27, from -1% in HY Mar-26. EBITDA was Rs 81.58 lakh in HY Sep-26, compared with a loss of Rs 10.38 lakh in HY Mar-26, according to the investor presentation.
The margin was also 1 percentage point above the 7% reported in HY Sep-25. EBITDA rose by Rs 7.11 lakh from Rs 74.47 lakh a year earlier, while the presentation described the year-on-year EBITDA increase as 10%.
The return to positive EBITDA was larger than the revenue movement between the two latest reported half years. Revenue increased by Rs 47.87 lakh from HY Mar-26 to HY Sep-26, whereas EBITDA improved by Rs 91.96 lakh over the same comparison.
What drove Radiowalla's EBITDA turnaround?
Radiowalla said improved resource utilisation, cost optimisation and artificial intelligence integration in backend workflows supported the H1 FY27 margin improvement. Management presented these actions as the operational reasons for the shift from a -1% margin in HY Mar-26 to 8% in HY Sep-26.
The presentation does not disclose a separate cost-saving amount, headcount change or artificial intelligence expenditure for the period. It therefore does not quantify how much of the Rs 81.58 lakh EBITDA came from each of the three initiatives cited by management.
Radiowalla operates in-store radio, corporate audio, digital signage, audio advertising and digital out-of-home services. Its presentation says the Bengaluru-based business serves more than 700 clients across about 35,000 stores in India and selected international markets, including the United Arab Emirates and South America.
How did Radiowalla's revenue and EBITDA compare with earlier periods?
Radiowalla reported revenue from operations of Rs 10.79 crore in HY Sep-26, up 5% from Rs 10.31 crore in HY Mar-26 and 7% from Rs 10.07 crore in HY Sep-25. The sequential increase was Rs 47.87 lakh, while the year-on-year increase was Rs 72.81 lakh.
EBITDA moved more sharply than revenue because the preceding half recorded a loss. The presentation labels the movement from negative Rs 10.38 lakh in HY Mar-26 to Rs 81.58 lakh in HY Sep-26 as 920% EBITDA growth, while the corresponding HY Sep-25 comparison is shown as 10% growth.
For the full financial year ended March 2026, Radiowalla reported revenue from operations of Rs 20.38 crore, EBITDA of Rs 64.09 lakh and an EBITDA margin of 3%. H1 FY27 EBITDA of Rs 81.58 lakh exceeded that full-year figure, although the presentation gives no segment-level or cost-level breakdown to explain the difference.

Which Radiowalla businesses improved gross margins?
Radiowalla reported gross-margin expansion in In-Store Radio and the business labelled VCMS, while Corporate Radio declined slightly. In-Store Radio's gross margin increased to 42% from 33% in the previous year, and VCMS rose to 36% from 21%.
Corporate Radio had the highest disclosed gross margin at 45% in H1 FY27, but this was 1 percentage point below the corresponding prior-year period. The presentation does not expand VCMS or disclose revenue, gross profit or operating profit for any of the three businesses.
Management separately said it is taking steps to improve the advertising business through greater investment in marketing and technology. No advertising revenue, gross-margin or EBITDA figure was provided for H1 FY27, so the financial effect of those investments cannot be established from the presentation.
What is Radiowalla planning for H2 FY27?
Radiowalla expects its newly launched in-store fragrance business to begin contributing revenue in the second half of FY27. The retail-client offering was introduced during H1 FY27 and adds fragrance to the existing portfolio of in-store audio, digital signage and digital-media solutions.
Management said the new service is intended to support a more comprehensive multisensory customer-engagement offering. The presentation does not give a revenue target, number of retail clients, contract value or investment amount for the fragrance vertical.
For the period after HY Sep-26, management said its focus would remain on revenue growth, EBITDA-margin improvement, operating efficiency and integrated retail-media expansion. The presentation also identifies increased revenue per store and cross-selling as elements of Radiowalla's asset-light business model.
Conclusion
Radiowalla's H1 FY27 result combined a 5% sequential increase in revenue to Rs 10.79 crore with a move from a negative EBITDA margin to 8%. The year-on-year comparison was also positive, with EBITDA margin rising from 7% and In-Store Radio and VCMS reporting gross-margin increases of 9 and 15 percentage points, respectively.
The next disclosed point to watch is H2 FY27, when management expects in-store fragrance to start generating revenue. Management's stated plans also include advertising investments in marketing and technology, alongside continuing work on revenue growth, operational efficiency, cross-selling and EBITDA margins.
