Why did Safe Enterprises report lower H1 FY27 revenue?
Safe Enterprises reported H1 FY27 revenue from operations of Rs 77.87 crore, down 30.7% from Rs 112.38 crore in H1 FY26, because some client store-rollout orders were not dispatched within the half. The company said global uncertainty and the later festive season caused clients to move planned rollouts into Q3 and H2 FY27, shifting the related revenue-recognition period.
The lower revenue was accompanied by reduced reported earnings. Operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, or operating EBITDA, were Rs 25.6436 crore in H1 FY27 versus Rs 42.328 crore a year earlier, a 39.4% fall. Safe Enterprises defines operating EBITDA as profit before tax plus finance costs and depreciation less other income. Profit after tax was Rs 21.7541 crore, down 34.6% from Rs 33.2475 crore, while operating EBITDA margin moved to 32.9% from 37.7%.
How do deferred orders change Safe Enterprises' H1 FY27 comparison?
Safe Enterprises says adding the Rs 23.02 crore deferred-order value to H1 FY27 gives an illustrative Rs 100.89 crore revenue figure, reducing the year-on-year decline to 10.2%. This is not reported revenue: the company says the illustration assumes the orders, excluding goods and services tax and inter-company amounts, had been dispatched and billed by September 30, 2026.
The difference between reported and illustrative H1 FY27 revenue is Rs 23.02 crore, which Safe Enterprises says closes about two-thirds of the gap against H1 FY26. The presentation separately labels a 29.6% change for deferred orders, while the like-for-like comparison shown is the reported 30.7% H1 decline versus the illustrative 10.2% decline after including those orders.
What orders were deferred into H2 FY27?
New-store projects accounted for Rs 20.78 crore, or 90.3%, of the Rs 23.02 crore deferred orders, according to Safe Enterprises. Refurbishment and additions represented Rs 81 lakh, or 3.5%, while export orders were Rs 1.42 crore, or 6.2%. The deferred-order mix was therefore concentrated in greenfield outlet execution rather than refurbishment work.
Safe Enterprises said it had received Rs 12.13 crore in advances, equal to 53% of the deferred-order total, with Rs 10.89 crore remaining to be received. The company expects revenue recognition in H2 FY27 upon dispatch, so receiving an advance does not itself make the order value H1 FY27 revenue under the presentation's stated mechanism.

Which operating indicators changed in H1 FY27?
Safe Enterprises executed 203 stores in H1 FY27, compared with 230 stores in H1 FY26, while revenue per store was Rs 38.34 lakh in H1 FY27. The company reported revenue per store of Rs 51.39 lakh for full-year FY26 and attributed the H1 FY27 level partly to a greater share of compact-format, smaller-ticket installations rather than pricing.
New stores supplied 80.5% of Rs 77.87 crore of H1 FY27 consolidated revenue, compared with 13.7% from refurbishment and additions, 5.5% from other operating income and 0.4% from other services. Safe Enterprises said discretionary refresh spending was deferred amid uncertain conditions, while client capital expenditure was prioritised towards new-store rollouts planned for H2 FY27.
What could affect Safe Enterprises' H2 FY27 execution?
Safe Enterprises said several larger-format store rollouts were rescheduled to H2 FY27, and its radio-frequency identification, or RFID, self-checkout solution Wave is expected to contribute to revenue per store predominantly in that half. Management characterises the store-rollout movement as a timing shift rather than a reduction in underlying demand, but the presentation does not provide a quantified H2 FY27 revenue target.
Manufacturing capacity is also scheduled to change in the last week of December 2026, when Safe Enterprises says its Lodha Industrial and Logistics Park, Ambernath plant will commence operations. The new site has a 250,000 square-foot manufacturing area and, together with the 96,505 square-foot Pune facility, is intended to take total manufacturing area to 346,505 square feet from the pre-expansion 130,000 square feet.
Conclusion
The presentation links the reported H1 FY27 decline to delayed dispatches, particularly for new-store projects, while also showing that profitability and store execution were lower than in the comparable half. The advance receipts and order mix provide support for the disclosed deferred-order pipeline, but the adjusted revenue comparison remains illustrative until dispatch and billing occur.
The next test is whether the deferred orders and rescheduled larger-format rollouts are dispatched and recognised in H2 FY27, alongside the expected Wave contribution. Safe Enterprises also plans to begin Ambernath operations in the last week of December 2026, followed by a phased transfer of leased Navi Mumbai units and a capacity ramp-up.
