Profit before tax was also Rs 53.365 crore in the September 2026 quarter, while net profit after tax was Rs 39.771 crore, indicating that no exceptional item was reported for that quarter.
SJS Enterprises’ net profit increased by Rs 7.452 crore, faster than the Rs 12.629 crore revenue increase. Total comprehensive income rose by Rs 6.223 crore to Rs 38.993 crore, which was below net profit because the results also included other comprehensive income movements.
Why did SJS Enterprises’ profit grow faster than revenue?
SJS Enterprises’ reported profit before exceptional items and tax increased 22.9%, compared with 8.7% revenue growth, establishing that earnings before exceptional items and tax expanded faster than sales in the September 2026 quarter. The filing does not provide standalone expense-line details or attribute the movement to a product, customer, input cost, pricing action or other specific factor.
Based on the reported standalone figures, profit before exceptional items and tax was 33.8% of revenue in the September 2026 quarter, compared with 29.9% a year earlier. Net profit after tax was 25.2% of revenue, compared with 22.2% in the quarter ended 30 September 2025.
The September quarter also differed from the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2026. Revenue increased from Rs 145.532 crore in June to Rs 157.935 crore in September, while net profit declined from Rs 59.739 crore because the June quarter included an exceptional gain of Rs 27.954 crore.
How did SJS Enterprises perform in the first half?
SJS Enterprises reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs 303.467 crore for the six months ended 30 September 2026, up 12.8% from Rs 269.028 crore in the six months ended 30 September 2025. This first-half revenue growth rate was higher than the 8.7% increase in the September quarter alone.
First-half net profit after tax was Rs 99.510 crore, compared with Rs 59.632 crore a year earlier. Profit before exceptional items and tax rose 26.5% to Rs 101.119 crore from Rs 79.929 crore, whereas reported profit before tax reached Rs 129.073 crore after the exceptional item.
The difference between the 26.5% rise in profit before exceptional items and tax and the 66.9% rise in reported net profit reflects the Rs 27.954 crore exceptional gain recorded in the first half. This means the six-month net-profit comparison includes a non-recurring transaction, unlike the September-quarter comparison.
