What did Titan report for Q2FY27?
Titan reported consolidated profit after tax of Rs 1,722 crore for Q2FY27, compared with Rs 1,120 crore in Q2FY26. Profit before tax increased 53% to Rs 2,329 crore, and the profit-before-tax margin rose 207 basis points to 11.3% from 9.3%; one basis point equals one-hundredth of a percentage point.
Total income grew 25% to Rs 20,533 crore from Rs 16,407 crore in Q2FY26. Earnings before interest and tax, or EBIT, rose 59% to Rs 2,865 crore, with the EBIT margin increasing to 14.0% from 11.0%; Titan said total income excludes bullion and digi-gold sales in all periods shown.
Titan’s operating release also excludes a Rs 671 crore non-operational Indian Accounting Standard, or Ind AS, credit from both total income and profits. The release presents consolidated financials and says its figures and growth rates are rounded to the nearest integers.
How did the gold-duty gain affect Titan’s Q2 profit?
Titan said reported Q2FY27 profits included a Rs 536 crore customs-duty gain on gold. Profit before tax excluding that gain was Rs 1,793 crore, equal to an 8.7% margin and an 18% year-on-year increase, compared with reported profit before tax of Rs 2,329 crore and an 11.3% margin.
The difference between reported and duty-gain-adjusted Q2FY27 profit before tax was Rs 536 crore, matching the disclosed gain. Accordingly, Titan’s reported 53% profit-before-tax growth includes the customs-duty effect, while the company’s stated 18% growth rate excludes it.
For H1FY27, reported consolidated profits included Rs 943 crore of customs-duty gains. Titan reported first-half profit before tax of Rs 4,758 crore, up 58% from Rs 3,002 crore in H1FY26, and profit after tax of Rs 3,499 crore, also up 58% from Rs 2,211 crore.
Which Titan businesses drove Q2FY27 growth?
Titan’s jewellery portfolio grew 24% to Rs 17,495 crore in Q2FY27, excluding bullion and digi-gold sales. The company attributed the performance to its Festival of Diamonds and brand-level promotions, which supported studded-jewellery growth in the early thirties even as the festive calendar shifted to Q3FY27.
Watches revenue rose 27% to Rs 1,881 crore, which Titan described as one of the portfolio’s strongest quarterly performances. The company linked the result to premiumisation and consumer preference for analogue timepieces, and introduced Vetra, its in-house movement, during the quarter.
EyeCare grew 28% to Rs 281 crore in Q2FY27. Titan attributed the increase to a multi-brand approach, an upgraded store network and a sharper merchandise portfolio; it also cited robust performances from TEAL and the international business without providing revenue figures for those operations.

How did Titan’s H1FY27 performance compare with last year?
Titan’s H1FY27 total income increased 32% to Rs 41,286 crore from Rs 31,186 crore in H1FY26. EBIT rose 59% to Rs 5,647 crore and the EBIT margin expanded by 229 basis points to 13.7% from 11.4% over the six-month period.
Reported H1FY27 profit before tax was Rs 4,758 crore, generating an 11.5% margin versus 9.6% a year earlier. Profit after tax reached Rs 3,499 crore and its margin was 8.5%, compared with Rs 2,211 crore and 7.1% in H1FY26.
The 32% first-half income growth exceeded the 25% Q2FY27 rate, while first-half profit-after-tax growth of 58% was above the quarter’s 54% increase. The comparison includes the Rs 943 crore H1FY27 customs-duty gains disclosed by Titan, including Rs 536 crore recorded in Q2FY27.
What board actions accompanied Titan’s results?
Titan’s board approved a proposal to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore through rated, listed, redeemable unsecured non-convertible debentures, or NCDs, on a private-placement basis. A board committee has been authorised to finalise terms and allotment, with further disclosure planned when the NCDs are issued or allotted.
The board recommended Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants LLP as statutory auditor for five years, subject to shareholder approval. The proposed appointment would run from the conclusion of Titan’s 43rd annual general meeting in 2027 until the conclusion of its 48th annual general meeting thereafter.
Titan also said Noel N. Tata will retire as vice chairman and director effective 12 November 2026 under Tata Group Governance Guidelines. B S R & Co. LLP issued an unmodified limited-review conclusion on the unaudited Q2FY27 and H1FY27 financial results.
Conclusion
Titan delivered 25% Q2FY27 income growth, led by jewellery, watches and EyeCare, while reported profit after tax rose 54% to Rs 1,722 crore. The Rs 536 crore customs-duty gain is material to the reported profit outcome because profit before tax excluding that item rose 18% to Rs 1,793 crore.
The next disclosed operating event is the Q3FY27 festive period, after Titan said the festive calendar had shifted from Q2FY27. Other disclosed developments to watch are any issuance or allotment under the Rs 2,500 crore NCD programme and shareholder consideration of the proposed statutory-auditor appointment at the 2027 annual general meeting.
