What milestone did Unicommerce Shipway reach in Q2 FY27?
Unicommerce said Shipway exceeded a Rs 100 crore annualized revenue run rate in Q2 FY27 after growing 15.7% year on year. An annualized revenue run rate reflects the current revenue pace extrapolated over a year, rather than Shipway’s reported revenue for a completed financial year. Unicommerce did not disclose Shipway’s standalone quarterly revenue or adjusted EBITDA amount during the call.
Management said the milestone followed three quarters of work to build a foundation for sustainable growth. Shipway focused on improving business fundamentals and a sustainable operating model in FY26, before Unicommerce increased investment in FY27 for growth and scale. Management expects incremental investment to moderate from Q3 FY27, forming the basis for its profitability timetable.
Shipway’s expansion occurred within a group that reported consolidated Q2 FY27 revenue of Rs 59.1 crore, up 15% from Rs 51.4 crore in Q2 FY26. Management said both Uniware and Shipway delivered double-digit growth, while product development, talent, sales and marketing investment reduced group adjusted EBITDA margin to 17% from 22.2% a year earlier.
How does Unicommerce plan to grow Shipway beyond Rs 100 crore?
Unicommerce plans to scale Shipway through cross-selling to Uniware clients and independent client acquisition in the logistics-technology market. About 10% of Uniware and Shipway clients overlap, but clients using Uniware account for about 20% to 25% of Shipway shipment volumes. Management views that gap as room to expand Shipway services within the Uniware client ecosystem.
The second route is direct expansion beyond Uniware’s customer base. Management said Shipway serves a larger potential client universe than Uniware and estimated, using internal estimates, that Shipway has less than 5% market share. The company said it will pursue both channels in parallel, rather than relying solely on cross-selling to lift growth above the Q2 FY27 rate of 15.7%.
Unicommerce’s wider growth plan also includes new client additions and additional products for existing clients. Uniware added 121 enterprise clients in Q2 FY27, compared with 103 in Q2 FY26, a 17.5% increase. Management said sales and marketing capability, go-to-market efficiency and artificial-intelligence-led product innovation are intended to support client acquisition and deeper product use across its platforms.
What did Unicommerce report on revenue, margins and cash?
Unicommerce reported 15% revenue growth in Q2 FY27, while adjusted EBITDA declined as operating expenses increased. Revenue rose by Rs 7.7 crore to Rs 59.1 crore, adjusted EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization as adjusted by the company, declined to Rs 10 crore from Rs 11.4 crore, and profit after tax increased to Rs 6.4 crore from Rs 5.8 crore.
The adjusted EBITDA margin was 17% in Q2 FY27, versus 22.2% in Q2 FY26. Management attributed the change to planned first-half investment in products, people, sales and marketing. For H1 FY27, revenue was Rs 110.4 crore, up 14.7% from Rs 96.3 crore in H1 FY26, while adjusted EBITDA was Rs 18.1 crore and the adjusted EBITDA margin was 16.4%.
Cash and bank balances were Rs 104.4 crore at the end of Q2 FY27, compared with Rs 63.4 crore at the end of Q2 FY26. The chief financial officer initially gave the prior-year balance as Rs 93.4 crore, then corrected it to Rs 63.4 crore during the call. Q2 FY27 cash flow from operations grew 20.6% year on year to Rs 11.6 crore, and management said operating cash flows funded part of H1 investment.

What targets has Unicommerce set for Shipway and Uniware?
Management expects Shipway to achieve adjusted EBITDA profitability from Q3 FY27 and profit-after-tax profitability from Q4 FY27. These are management expectations rather than reported results, and the company linked them to moderating incremental investments in H2 FY27 alongside continued revenue growth. Management also expects consolidated profitability and margins to improve during the second half through operating leverage.
For revenue, management expects Uniware to deliver more than 15% year-on-year growth from Q4 FY27 onward and Shipway to exceed 20% growth from the same quarter. Shipway’s Q2 FY27 growth was 15.7%, meaning the Q4 outlook implies an acceleration of at least 4.3 percentage points. The call did not provide a standalone Shipway quarterly revenue base against which to calculate the expected rupee increase.
Uniware’s newer UniReco and UniCapture products crossed a combined annualized revenue run rate of more than Rs 3 crore, or about 2.5% of Uniware revenue, in Q2 FY27. More than 150 clients used the products, with UniReco used by 7% to 8% of Uniware enterprise clients and UniCapture by 5% to 6%. Management sees potential for newer offerings to contribute more than 10% of Uniware revenue over the next two to three years.
International markets contributed about 6% of Uniware revenue, compared with around 3% at the time of listing roughly two years earlier. Management said the international business is profitable and growing faster than the domestic business, though India remains the dominant contributor. It said international revenue could reach the early double digits in a steady state, rather than 40% to 50% of revenue.
Conclusion
Shipway’s Rs 100 crore-plus annualized revenue run rate establishes a larger base for Unicommerce’s logistics-technology growth plan, while its 15.7% Q2 FY27 growth sits below management’s target of more than 20% from Q4. The group’s Rs 59.1 crore quarterly revenue and 17% adjusted EBITDA margin show the financial effect of continuing investment during H1 FY27.
The next disclosed milestones are Shipway’s expected adjusted EBITDA profitability in Q3 FY27 and profit-after-tax profitability in Q4 FY27. Investors can also watch whether incremental investment moderates from Q3, whether consolidated H2 FY27 margins improve as management expects, and whether UniReco and UniCapture progress beyond their current Rs 3 crore-plus annualized revenue run rate.
