Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is India's leading integrated steel manufacturing company, producing a wide range of steel products for various industries, including construction, engineering, power, automotive, and defense.

SAIL reported a steady revenue growth in H1 FY26, with an increase to Rs. 52,625 crore from Rs. 48,672 crore during the same period last year, demonstrating an 8% growth.

Despite the global steel industry facing challenges, SAIL managed to reduce borrowings by over Rs. 3,000 crore during H1 FY26, resulting in reduced interest costs and improved financial stability.

The company has undertaken substantial expansion plans for its IISCO Steel Plant, with targets to expand capacity by more than 5% compared to FY25-26, underlining its strategic focus on capacity enhancement.

SAIL's strategic initiatives include a reduction of inventories and increased sales of by-products, which contributed significantly to its improved profitability in Q2 FY26.
